Q-tel being over smart
I subscribed for a caller ring tone service when Q-tel introduced ‘my tones’ offer. There was a specific number to call to fix the tone. So I selected a song by following automated instruction; but after 15 days I wanted to discontinue the service so called same number and unsubscribed the service. But even after unsubscribing they continue to cut QR. 5 per month, when I enquired about this, they informed me that customers have to delete their tones from record to finish their so called unsubscription PROCESS. Then was trying to delete the damn tone from my record by calling that specific number by following automated voice (only highly patient ppl can do here) which cost Qr. 1 per minute. Can you believe even after spending half an hour and around 30 riyals credit… continue to press ‘5’ in my mobile, which is designated to delete the tone; it was not just deleting. Damn system was not responding but but repeating the same words to me "press 5 to delete your tone". :(... And today Q-tel again renewed my tone against my will by cutting QR. 5 riyals again. . Am just so helpless and they are just being over smart because they know qatari cell phone customers left no option but Q-tel. bloody monopoly!!!

This trick not apply in QTel alone. But it was known as one of several "scam" the phone company did worldwide. No exeption in my home-country too.
That is why in the world, I never eat any bait from any phone company's lure. Just use basic service and a penny of GPRS in case of emergency.

emron dnt expect wonders from new service provider, cos it will be also controlled by QF, another govt entity. QF have more power in consortium than vodafone. So it will be more the same old wine in different bottles. Anyway lets wait and see.

climbin i may sound bit sarci, but still they are a bunch of idiots out there. learned from experience.
all the time they introduce some offer it would look so tempting same time will be a big catch for customers.

razz payin for a servic its ok, but Q-tel should not cheat the customers. its pure cheating my other frns also having same problems with their customer service, actualy they dont have anything of that sort.

i subscribed and now i am stuck with it and i just leave it...even to change is a big hasle and it takes long time..and 1 riyal a minute is too much

u cant enjoy the advanced facilities with cheaper price coz Qtel has no substitute.....
i also went but for geting also thru their voice message the ringtone they deducted from account i suppose that should be free na?
