Poor Schoolgirls with Karwa Driver

ahmad_abuanas
By ahmad_abuanas

Today I saw an uwfel experience at almost 1:00 pm at the Center roundabout, three poor school girls were looking for a Taxi and several Karwa Taxi drivers rejected to carry them, the girls were jumping from one side of the street to the other.
I wish they have taken the Taxi plate numbers and reported them to the company and to the Police, I suggest to put a sign on the Taxi and turn it on if you want to take customers, If this sign is turned Off it means the Taxi is out of service.
Some of Karwa Driveres are affecting the company reputation and should be punished and panned from doing this job.
The company should impose it's conditions on the drivers and not the other way.

We turning left to our compound, my husband indicate for the past 200 metres, as soon as he turn left this stupid driver tried to overtake our car from the left. My husband got out from the car and told him how stupid he is. That's how he kill people on the road. We took this taxi number down ... 1616 ... and have complained to the office.

Incidents happened at 13.20pm.

Who works for karwa taxi here... how far all these complained goes up?

If they don't want to work They mest be kicked out from here. simple as that.

No execuse for drivers because they ask where do you want to go, and based on that they decide, It has nothing to do with the initial 200 QR they pay to Karawa.

I beleive it's simple: If they work they have to pick ANY PASSENGER to where ever they want to go, or else they should not stop and start asking.

Bloody drivers are lying and I have no symphoty for them

won't make a difference I guess they can simply say that they have to pick up someone according to a previous phone call arrangement. They can always get away with it and their company know that there are no enough staff there too.

They got a lot of new cars and want to release them when they finalize the 'Fare Rise' issue. When they are done, you will see more Karwa Taxis there, but with extra money that you have to pay indeed.

Looks like the only thing that they are good at here is how to get back every Cent they pay to you again. Everything is going up, but the salaries are in the same place .. kind of heavy stone that no one can move. Hopefully it is not on the edge of a cliff already.

sl you are the one who is misinformed. The drivers have to pay at the beginning of each day QR 220. If they dont take out the car for a day they were earlier fined QR100. Now they are being fined QR50. Could you please ask whoever that you have there in mowasalat the reason for that and when this was reduced.

If not someone is lying either the management or the drivers. what would the benefit for drivers if they are lying?

I have it on good autjority that Karwa taxi drivers are allocated to certain pick up points and they have to stick to those points. If, for instance, they are stationed at Sheraton hotel, and take someone to the airport, they may not pick up another fare at the airport and take them to say, Hyatt Plaza and then return to the Sheraton. It has to be Sheraton, Airport Sheraton. Nothing else. Also these guys have to PAY IN QR 200 at the beginning of each day. The rules restrict their earnings potential. They get to keep anything over the QR200. They budget QR10 for food everyday. Maybe they need some sympathy instead.

i want to add some thing in it

many times i personally saw between ramada signals to the center roundabout karwa taxis are not stopping for poor looking people (labour etc.) and in front of center the same taxi is stopped for good looking ladies, with all due respect to ladies

unfair labor practices for Karwa drivers were the main reasons why taxis nowadays are scarce. I just hope those who snobbed their passengers are not filipinos coz I doubt pinoys could do that...they're here to drive & pick-up passengers. Why should they avoid them???

and tell driver 1666 not to stop dead in the middle of Al Sadd to pick up passengers! plenty of places to pull over. Really dangerous.

poor girls that is so dangerous - they should take down the plates

I bought a car AFTER karwa started... because it was getting so difficult to get around and few of the drivers knew how to get anywhere and many were crap drivers.

Car number 726 just tried to cut me up half an hour ago and then started rasing fists at me.... charming....

could karwa please install indicators on their taxis :)

Just saw a couple of Filipinos (brother and sister) at Landmark at about 1 PM having difficulties to get a taxi! I offered them a lift and dropped them to Najma then I went home! Taxis should feel sorry for the passengers in this hot weather!

I have a school close to my house and I saw that the Karwa drivers don;t want to pick up teenagers. Don't know why.

They have no problem in picking up adults but teenagers. Some weird phenomenon

The menance can only be solved if they have competiton.

Then for once there will be no need for complaints etc. And the managemtnt will genuinly try to improve the image of the Co. & its Service.
