Please drive responsibly

There was an accident in Salwa Road on 27th Dec 2011. Due to the accident traffic was jammed and everyone was moving slowly…slowly…... of course, with the hazard signal.....Police vehicles & ambulance were also there with siren and light... I was driving in second track... suddenly one really irresponsible and careless local guy hit my car from the back and I am barely survived.

Please don't kill us. Please drive responsibly, someone is waiting for us at home.

abc1234567890: It’s all in your deluded evil mind. You hate the Qatari people so much you imagine they gonna starve to death if we left? Looool seriously! Grow the Fock up!

Nobody will starve to death but you loooool, trust me on that one. As for Qatar They' will just replace u with other ppl who are right now dying to come and work in this country (:

Thank God you are ok. Honestly, I am always in the edge of my seat whenever I am in car or a cab. Like I'm holding for dear life.

When I first arrived here and straight from the airport, I experienced an "almost" accident waiting to happen. All I thought of was cursing the driver of the car that wheezed by.

And most of the time (when drivers in the street who swerve out of nowhere), I always scream (I tend to when I get surprised or shocked) "freaking driver!" And then there goes my brain telling me that those drivers are dreaming of becoming F1 racers. LOL.

I don't think it is fair to blame just the locals on car accidents. ive seen plenty of accidents caused by other nationals. a lot of people do not use signals in this country. i cannot tell you the amount of times an india driver wasn't looking when merging and almost side swipes my car.

ive even seen some western expats getting reckless.

ive been in this country for 10 years so ive seen my fair share of accidents. my dad got hit in the back because some lady was speeding. she wasn't qatari.

and i agree they should check people's alcohol level regular. because at the beginning of last Ramadan this drunk Lebanese woman ran into the front of woqod petrol station store.

@ Doha-Chapp: If you would have stopped being ignorant for 5 seconds, you would have seen that you guys ( Qataris - "Locals" ) are the ones who ABSOLUTELY DO NOT APPLY ANY TRAFFIC RULES ! ( ok, around 80% of the total Qatari drivers - the other 20%, all the respect ).

One more thing... if all of "us" will leave this country, and nobody will come back, the same 80% mentioned above WILL be so deep ... trouble ... that MAYBE they will actually starv to death :)

Untill then ... peace :)

early morning, when my LC is been closely shaved my door by a sleepy driver of a small car with side mirror.

There are so many new and amateur drivers on road; make normal driving difficult.

I stopped asked him to wake up and he apologised thats all.

I'm reading the comments of the story, I see a number of people who it is probably best that our paths never cross.

and to those punks and punkettes who make such comments and who are stinking up the air with coveted racism and hate. YOU ARE TOO CHICKEN TO COME OUT IN THE OPEN AND SAY I HATE QATAR. so like a a stray cat you keep sniffing around your own poop.

But hey, if that is what you truly think you are too good for this country and it's people, then enough with the tough talk. Let's get the dance going. GET OUT

Shabuntu: focusing all this hate on one single group of people whom you keep referring to as “The Locals" is even more ignorant and way too shallow-minded.

Guys,

I am curious what the process is if you get into an accident. Does the insurance pay for the damage or in this case the driver that rear ends is expected to pay? Also curious if all everyone is treated fairly by the cops.

The reason I ask is, I am planning to move to Qatar shortly, I have been driving in U.S. (where the traffic laws are very strict) for nearly 20 years and never got a single speeding ticket. I have heard of horrific accidents from friends that live in the Middle East. Just to be safe should I be driving a SUV?

Police should check for drunk drivers with alcohol meter on main roads during Christmas & New Year as I have noticed too many accidents during this period. Few people while enjoying their festivals consume too much of alcohol, sleep late, getup late for work the next morning, don’t even takes bath, so with the hangover they come on road creating further nuisance for everybody.

Yeah its sadly says that.Everytime im on the road, i felt very nervous when someones behind me,especially some LOCAL & some people that they think they are the owner of the road. You are in the middle of the traffic & you running 20kph & they wanted you to shift another lane, the lights on you & horn at you.Really they are stupid & most of the times they surprise on you when they're appear immediately in front of you without any warnings or signal. And here, they stopped quickly & of course you hit him & worse its your fault.

Why the Qatari Govt will build a road, bridges & hiway for Qatari only. They dont mind you even when they left you dead on the accident. They dont care about your family to be left alone as long they are happy & they think that they are god of the highway.Poor people who misfortunate encounter of those little mind bla bla bla bla.

It always has to be a local yeah! Lol. Like I’m yet to hear a story about an expat getting in to car accidents or causing problems on the road. I promise if this wasn't going to be considered by some of the too righteous and too godly ppl on here as bigotry and being racist.

I could list a few nationalities off the top of my head. Talk about our fellow Expats from PEEEP counties and how they bounce and swerve on the roads with their lil mini cars ridiculously and unnecessarily endangering people’s lives and then speed up at traffic lights to only suddenly hit the brakes once they realize they can’t make it past the lights!

Most sets include 100 white, 50 red and 50 blue horse power although you may be able to find sets offering you a choice of colors. Look for a set that comes with an aluminum case.
