Can anyone help me...i need some plants for a school experiment (i'm a teacher!) and was hoping that someone could tell me where i could get a load of them from...
Thanks
I remembered the name of the person in charge at the Municipal/agricultural place near Muntaza traffic light. His name was Mr Ahmed Sourour. Very nice - good english.
WELL...THERE IS ONE...NOT THAT BIG..ITS IN MAMOURA, NEAR MAMOURA COMPLEX AND IDEAL INDIAN SCHOOL.IAM SORRY, I FORGOT THE NAME.BUT U CAN GET TO IT EASILY WHEN U GET TO EITHER MAOMURA COMPLEX OR THAT SCHOOL.
Yes there is the nursery at Shahania (halfway to Dukhan) This is just before the shahania round about on the right. Go thru a gate(watchman) & drive thru to the green houses at the back.
Then there are the nurseries just off Salwa road. See direction above. But if you want to have a good supply for little money you should contact the department of Agriculture. They used to be behind the park at Muntaza gardens in the curved building. They are very nice, will provide you with plants and you can even arrange a visit with them for your class. They really are into promoting a Green Qatar.
I have not been to either place for a long time and hope the directions are still valid.
Does anyone have met Alexa? She will make any other lady jealous with her figure :-(, she is far away my senior but somehow i am 'jealous' of her appearance :-(. Soooo slim ...
Well, it was not a matter of having you over eating. Just I wanted something left for me to shop. And thought you need to have some mercy for your trousers:))))))
This reminds me of the thread "U know u've been in the Middle East too long..." and one of them was "U know u've been in the ME for too long when u start using landmarks and not streets for directions" lol.
to make things easy for you, better check on the nurseries near central veggie market.
If you know Salwa road. Coming from industrial area towards Doha. After Central Vegetable market roundabout, take the second exit on ur right hand side (sure cannot go left). That's just after Bukanan furniture showroom. Keep going straight and you will find some 10 plant nurseries along that street.
I think you probably right ... those days when we just arrived in Doha 6 yrs ago, we always goes there at least twice a month to buy plants (my husband like gardening) ... I think the landmark supposed to be like a big fort building on the left and the farm on the right.
Season is for planting i have ordered for my fruits and veges at farm house to be planted soon dont wana go to market and keep lookin around will just go to farm house and pluck for my self. well there was one in bin mehmood i dont know if it still exists. but there is one after khartiyat which is near about 12km on shamal road from Landmark. :D
the al shahaniya nursery on the way to Dukhan Road ... it is a good place to get from if you buy in the big bulk. But last time we went to Dukhan we cant find the entrance of the nursery because of the road works.

"Don't know either novi, but I was there!!!!
You pass Education City, and just drive stright for about 20 mins, it is a very big farm with lots of greenhouses.
I am pretty sure it was called Shahania.
It is on the right side of the road."

Since when Shahaniya got on Duhail road??? Duhail is on Shamal road which is towards north and shahniya is on Dukhan road which is west after Rayyan.
