Pet policies when signing a lease

After some grave deliberation... I have to express my anger with Pet policies when it comes to signing a lease?! Something must be done!

Recently my husband and I have been on the prowl for a new home as we have once again fallen victim to spiralling rents.

To our dismay many real estate firms immediately "laughed" in our faces for highlighting the fact that we have a dog. On one occasion we were even taken advantage of, because of the very same fact and were asked of an exsagerated sum of money in advance - beside the normal requirement. To our suprise many compounds too, have clamped down and just can't understand how families rent villas for anything or more than QAR15,000 and not be able to take their pets?
