Perfume: The Story Of A Murderer (2006)
Stars: Dustin Hoffman, Alan Rickman, Ben Whishaw, etc.
Directed by Tom Tykwer
In 18th century France, a mysterious boy who has a very VERY strong sense of smell is on a quest to find the true essence of the greatest perfume of them all...not without having to 'kill' several women in the process.
Told in a narrative story based on a novel by Patrick Suskind, the one thing that kepts me repeating this movie all over again was the character of the boy (Ben Whishaw) who's life is soooo weird yet you don't know whether to hate him or pity him in all the 'adventures' he made in his lifelong quest, from a rejected newborn in the fish market, to a slave in the seaport, to a 'very talented' perfume maker under an Italian shop owner, etc.
Not for all tastes. For mature audiences only.
The film was really great. But I ve heard that the book was excellent. Anyway the theme is worth reading or seeing it
makes you think and go deep in your mind.
try to figure out hows the essence of human been would smell like?
I saw this a while back. It is an excellent film. ;)
The film is great...try the book..it's a masterpiece
I have never seen the film but that film cover is stunning. Absolutely beautiful, I can't look away.
