Partitioned Villas/Flats

What is your take on shared villa/flats.

The reason I ask, is because.

A three bedroom flat becomes 5 or 7 rooms (with the dining, hall and living room converted to a room) with a family in each room. The flat has a parking for 1 car, and if those 5 families have 5 to 8 cars, where is the parking space. In the case of a VIlla, there maybe no problem as there is ample space in the villa.

According to the News paper, these will be stopped, I hope it is done asap.

My reason,
Due to scare parking in front of my building, my car has been damaged twice in the span of 3 months. My neighbours roof plaster has fallen (Dont know if it is due to the number of people living on the floor above). The main electric breaker keeps tripping. And someone stole my breaker and put a lower capacity one.

it is insane seeing 11 families living in a 3 bedroom flat.

there is no concern for privacy?

This was discussed in another thread and some insensitive people just jumped in with their irresponsible comments. It's good that there are better and more responsible posts this time. I, for one, is concerned about this trend. Many people seem to be in this 'business' of renting out partitioned rooms/regular rooms in a crowded flat with very high rates.

@stealth, yes it is true that this trait is very common to a particular community. But their other compatriots, especially those who come from other regions, also frown at this practice. These people are used to that kind of living arrangement especially those who live in the big cities back in their own country.

@aiskaleem, you are right, one has to pay around 1.5k for a small partitioned room and then at least 2.5k if you want to have more space. Dont get me wrong here, we dont blame people who share a flat because this helps them with their disproportionate housing allowance. That is if they do it just to split the cost and not to make a profit. But the sad thing is that many people turned it into a business so they have to collect more rent for a room in a flat. (sigh) It's more difficult for us to make ends meet now bcoz the salaries of most privately employed expats remained the same.

HELLO ALL,

YOU FORGOT TO MENTION THAT EVEN THEN PEOPLE HAVE TO PAY A MINIMUM 2-3000 FOR THAT LITTLE SPACE. A CLEAR VIOLATION FOR HUMANITY. BUT UNFORTUNATELY WE HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE SITUATION AS HIKE IN COST OF LIVING BUT UNEQUAL RAISE IN SALARIES.

THANKS

Due to scare parking in front of my building, my car has been damaged twice in the span of 3 months. - if you dont have your own parking, parked your car away from them.

My neighbours roof plaster has fallen (Dont know if it is due to the number of people living on the floor above). ask you landlord maybe he didnt fixed it well.

The main electric breaker keeps tripping. - report to KAHRAMAA

And someone stole my breaker and put a lower capacity one. - shoot the thieves

According to the News paper, these will be stopped, I hope it is done asap. - i hope also that all company will provide decent accomodation to its employees or will give enough allowance to rent a decent flat/villa.
