Paid Parking @ Souq Waqif

After all the Rumors of paid parking in City Center, Its actually been done in Souq Waif.

I was there last night and noticed the Ticket counters and the same system as the one in the Airport. Its not operational yet but probably in another week or so. No Idea about the charges as well.

Gone are those days of spending 3-4 hrs without worrying about how much your going to spend on parking. It eould be a better idea to Car pool out there to save some money i guess.

It was middle of the week and was still tough to find a spot to park in. So maybe this is a good thing ?!

I still reckon it'll result in people queueing to get in on all the surrounding roads, causing traffic jams.

It was in the newspapers a couple of times lately - I read it will cost QR 3, it didn't say per hour or anything, I think it's just a one off payment, the aim is more to control the traffic flow
