Nudity and Kissing comes to Bollywood...

Great news for my buddies Rizks and Pajju ...........

The most eagerly awaited release of the year, Kambakkht Ishq, has Akshay Kumar, Bollywood's leading action hero, and Kareena Kapoor, locked in a steamy clinch
So the release of a series of new Bollywood films showing some its leading stars naked has a whole nation girding its loins.

Bollywood films have long been known for their chaste female heroines, bursting with coy, repressed love.

Bollywood's top directors and leading actors appear to have finally cast all modesty aside in a series of new releases which show naked women in the shower, male prisoners stripping off, and passionate wet kissing.

The most eagerly awaited release of the year, Kambakkht Ishq, has Akshay Kumar, Bollywood's leading action hero, and Kareena Kapoor, locked in a steamy clinch. Kumar provoked a controversy early this year when his urged his wife to unzip his fly as he modelled jeans on a catwalk.

His film will be hot on the heels of September 11, in which John Abraham, a favourite among Indian women, is shown nude, a year after he revealed his buttocks in Dostana.

According to leading Indian director Jag Mundhra, Bollywood is finally catching up with the liberal MTV generation, which watches Western films on cable television.

He is releasing three Bollywood films this year, one of which has a shower scene showing a naked woman – one he would not have expected to get away with until recently.

I wonder if CC cinema will show them ???

how u forget Srk...getting a bath by senior bollywood actresses (LUX, a male beauty soap)....

We are commercialised, lets count money, who cares for values ;-) (pun intended).

Once Srk said in one of the interview that He is been treated like 'A Product for sell' then a human; it is reality!

it's about time, i think..:-) with a billion in population, i think Indian movies don't reflect society clearly. Indian couples don't pretend to kiss then stop at the moment their lips met.:-) am i correct, risks?

usapa na...

Cultural issues? I can remember a few Hindi movies of the 1990's that showed some nudity and they were not R rated movies. If showing two lovers making love is so bad then they should also ban rape scenes, killing, stealing..everything goes against culture if you start to look at it that way. End of the day its a movie, and all these ingredients are what make the movie successful :)

Your perceptions are correct. However, you will have noticed that in the developed nations, the use of female form to sell products is being restricted and in many countries regarded as exploitation.

Leaving that aside, the issue of nudity is more important here because of cultural issues and society as a whole in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, sri Lanks etc.

Lets just stop kidding ourselves people, there are movies for kids and then there are movies for adults. If you dont like to watch such scenes in movies then go watch kids movies. A beautiful woman can sell an Eskimo a fridge even.

Put aside movies and lets just take normal commercials, shaving creams, cars, men's perfumes why do they all use beautiful women in their ads? People will buy what they want regardless of which beautiful woman is modeling the product. Same way nudity and steamy scenes are thrown into the movies to make it more interesting to viewers, not only the men want to see but even the women want to see a Abraham butt or an Akshay butt so what?

And there are plenty of movies out there in bollywood that do not show nudity. You people are talking like it happens in every movie. When a steamy scene has to be shown let it be shown completely why hold back?

If your going to advertise a Ferrari dont just show us the logo.

I have to agree with Brit, I think very few films need nudity. Kissing on the other hand...I think that's a requirement for a lot of films.

Brit are you saying SEX is not part of life? Movies are fictional stories that involve every part of life, violence, sex, comedy, tragedy etc. Taking a shower is part of everyday routine so why not show it in the movie? Its all natural and makes watching movies feel more real than REEL.

Your wrong brit, also not ALL movies have nudity in it but when it calls for such a scene such as a bedroom scene between lovers they better show some skin :p Gone are the days where they left it up to the imagination.

On a slightly serious note.. i personaly believe that there is hardly any need for nudity in films..

If you want nudity, go see soft porn..

After all bollywood is next to hollywood....supporting entertainment business industry globally. However recession is fading out soon by end of the year.

I don't understand whats wrong with Indian media censorship board; on overdose of sleeping pills; see from simple Ads (undergarments) to daily soaps....... everywhere

losing cultural/moral and social values.

Actually, recent articles have said that a combination of both the recession-hit show business industry in the UK and an increasing demand for white skinned performers in Bollywood have spurred an estimated 1,000 white British actors and dancers to move to Mumbai in the past three years, according to casting directors.

British actresses in Mumbai can earn £1,000 a day.

after all, we are highly influenced by our colonial cousins......getting their slowly and steadily :-)

Indians don't wanted to be tagged as a conservative society......

Influx of money and wealth changes our attitude and thought process in killing old values of social and cultural traditions. Hope it will stop at reel level.

After all, INDIAN CINEMA has to make their place in HOLLYWOOD. So they have to behave one. ISN'T IT????

.

Personally, INDIAN MOVIES are getting very much hard to see with other family members especially KIDS / PARENTS / GRAND PARENTS.
