Nudist cruise launched by tour operator

Quick ... Get in shape for your next holiday..

A London-based tour operator is searching for 22 bold holidaymakers to strip off for a seven-night naked cruise.

eWaterways, which specialises in river and coastal cruises, will run its first cruise for naturists in August 2011, exploring the Croatian coastline.

“Naturist holidays are popular and Croatia has a lot of nudist beaches – so it’s a great match,” said a spokeswoman. “Passengers will get undressed for swimming and sunbathing, but will be clothed for dinner.”

The “intimate” ship features a bar, a spacious sun deck and a small restaurant, which will be serving traditional Croatian cuisine.

nomerci, people define and interpret things in a way which suits them..

wk, as per my definition of 'naturist' one needs to become a reptile to survive in a desert or an amphibian in an ocean..

With me the hats would have to be the other way around ;)

rishi why just forests, What about deserts & Oceans..

By nomerci• 15 Oct 2010 19:25
nomerci

rishimba, don't you think that everybody should have the right to make up their minds as to what brings them closer to nature?

Also, have you tried it? Because only that would make you fit to judge...at least for yourself, as everybody has their own opinion on what does what for them. Would be a shame if we were all the same, non?

By Lion_King• 15 Oct 2010 19:22

Nomerci, in some parts of the world people are very fanatical about thier life style and aquaintance with certain group of communities they live in. Such people can not think of exposing thier bodies or stay naked in public even if noone takes a glimpse thier curves. They always wanted to be fully dressed decently; and hence staying naked would be an "extra ordinary activity" for them.

By anonymous• 15 Oct 2010 19:15
anonymous

people who think that way are either fooling themselves or dont know what's it like to be close to nature..

if they really want to be close to nature, all they need to do is to spend some days in a forest and find their own food or water, take shelter in the caves and sleep on beds of dry leaves on the ground.

http://www.gonomad.com/features/0505/american_nudist.html

Doubt if you can access that link from Qatar. Its an article by a reporter who sampled the nudist life at a "clothing optional" resort.

excerpts-

"There are more than 44,000 dues-paying members of the American Association for Nude Recreation, (AANR), the lobbying group based in Kissimee Florida. Thousands more enjoy nudity at home or skinnydipping at a local nude swimming hole. But the people who vacation every weekend at De Anza and at the more than 100 other naturist clubs across the U.S. regard taking it all off much more seriously.

One women at the resort said that the first thing she does when she gets home from work is take off her bra. Nudists keep on going, and prefer to get naked as soon as they shut the door to the outside world."....

"Americans equate nudity with sex, and that simply is not the case. Sex with strangers isn’t a part of nudist resorts, though of course, you can find this at other “alternative adult’ resorts that are a universe away from a place like De Anza Springs."

Nude beaches, nudist colonies, nudist camps, etc

By nomerci• 15 Oct 2010 19:03
nomerci

Where I come from it was always called nudist. Maybe that has changed now...no idea. Makes no difference anyway.

And yes, those people actually do believe that being naked in nature brings them closer to it.

By timebandit• 15 Oct 2010 19:03
timebandit

BTW I remember reading in a paper about a new nudist beach opening up somewhere in the UK. And all the local shops sold out of binoculars and telescopes.

By anonymous• 15 Oct 2010 19:01
anonymous

nomerci, it certainly doesnt bring them closer to nature going naked on the beach...:)

it would probably sound a bit gross if they call it a 'nudist camp'.. so calling it 'naturist' gives it a more acceptable theme for commercial purposes and also avoid needless criticism from conservatives..

its just that i didnt agree with the usage of the word here for the purpose..

By anonymous• 15 Oct 2010 19:00

Or at least a hat, timebandit.

Lion King, i don't know if it is culture...people are simply not so obsessed with their bodies maybe?

See, in for example the US, things are totally different. There is no way they would have nudists there, or topless bathing at the beaches...still, they are Westerners. BUT, I think they are way more obsessed with their bodies than Europeans, IMHO.

As they are somewhat obsessed with covering their bodies to the fullest in other places.

By anonymous• 15 Oct 2010 18:32
anonymous

Totally naked is not even sexy.

By Lion_King• 15 Oct 2010 18:28
Lion_King

It's purely upto the individual whether to go naked on the beach or at the designated areas as applicable. Unlike some people no one is really interested in a full body naked eye scan on each other at these areas.... basically it's the culture difference that makes them think at a different angle.

By nomerci• 15 Oct 2010 18:13
nomerci

rishimba, why would they have to justify themselves?

By britexpat• 15 Oct 2010 17:39
britexpat

It's a personal choice. They are not forcing it on anyone.

There's a clear difference between this and any hedonistic type activities.

By anonymous• 15 Oct 2010 17:20
anonymous

Actually Nudist is a more common term not naturist

By anonymous• 15 Oct 2010 17:19
anonymous

are they using the word 'naturist' to justify themselves?

other than an uniform sun-tan during sunbathing, i dont see any justification in going naked....on the contrary, its always comfortable to use a proper swimming suite while swimming.

By nomerci• 15 Oct 2010 17:01
nomerci

Soniya, that is perfectly fine. Although I am European, I do not feel comfortable with it either....and that's why it is good to have choices, without being judged.

By soniya• 15 Oct 2010 16:58
soniya

nomerci, i felt it weird cos i don't see myself among these groups..I am quite uncomfortable with this..:)

By soniya• 15 Oct 2010 16:51
soniya

WK, yah i know about it..I would prefer not to comment against any religious beliefs..

What has been written in OP is the choice that they have made..it's not a compulsion..right??..we can't relate the RELIGIOUS BELIEFS with this one...This what i think..

By nomerci• 15 Oct 2010 16:40
nomerci

Soniya, they don't look at it that way, hence nobody cares.

For example, in europe, if you go to a Sauna, EVERYBODY is naked. And it more often that not, is a mixed Sauna. Nobody cares, so nobody feels weird.

By anonymous• 15 Oct 2010 16:36
anonymous

soniya Digambar Jains in India never wear anything. It's in their religion :)

By soniya• 15 Oct 2010 16:34
soniya

But that's really a weird choice to go naked infront of others...

By nomerci• 15 Oct 2010 16:24
nomerci

hmm, I don't see the big deal here...there are nudist clubs, beaches etc everywhere in Europe. People who want to go there do, the others don't...as simple as that.

Oh, and there is, against QL opinion, nothing sexual about it, it is a philosophy, nothing more, nothing less.

I personally don't see the appeal, but obviously some people do...it's always nice to have choices.

What were you wearing when you were born

We are born nude aren't we?

If God wanted us to wear clothes he would have made some sort of arrangement to ensure we are born covered.

The Persons who are involved in watching the nudist cruise whether they are seeing, encouraging, supporting others to follow are just enjoying for timebeing. Those kind of people are creating the hell fire for themselves. No religion thought us to be nude in public, why people are not following their own scripts. The person who knows something about his/her religion try to stop by hand, if not try to stop by speaking,if not try to curse in their hearts. Don't encourage this, and don't go to olden age.
