Nude moon? 'Twilight' star poses for a cause

Twilight" actress Christian Serratos waited until she was 18 to pose for PETA's "I'd rather go naked than wear fur" ad campaign, but only because the animal rights group wouldn't let her do it sooner.

"I've been doing ads and videos for PETA since I was 13, 14," said Serratos, 19, who made an appearance at the AT&T store at 70 W. Madison St. on Thursday. "I asked them 'When can we do this?' and they were like, 'Let's wait until you're 18.' As soon as I could do it, I did."

Serratos, who plays Angela in the "Twilight" movie series, became the youngest person to pose nude for the campaign.

"I was naked, but I was doing it for a cause, so I didn't feel uncomfortable," Serratos said about the ad, which shows her leaning against a tree in a foggy, "Twilight"-like forest. "I wanted to do something a little more risque, if that's what gets people talking about the wrong things being done to animals."

Although "Twilight's" Angela doesn't get as much screen time as the lead vampires and werewolves, Serratos does have to deal with some of the obstacles her better-known co-stars are facing. The franchise's massive popularity ("The Twilight Saga: New Moon" made an estimated $140.7 million over the weekend) has made it difficult for Serratos to go to a mall without being recognized.

"I go out in sweats and sunglasses so that I'm less conspicuous, or just add in time for autographs," said Serratos, who has appeared on the Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana" and Nickelodeon's "Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide."

Does Serratos have to deal with the screaming, hysterical fans that "Twilight" has become known for?

"The girls of 'Twilight' get the gasp: 'Oh my God,' " Serratos said. "The screaming (is for) the guys."

Some London based internet entrepreneurs have bared all for a charity calendar. The Nude London Tech calendar has 24 pictures of the capital’s internet pioneers what they describe as artistic poses.....one of them a 24 year old who runs techfluff.tv, an online video news site, appears in the calendar with her modesty covered using just a microphone and cable. I wonder whether it will do any good no matter how noble the cause is???
