Nissan's air-conditioning stops bad smells

I'm thinking of fitting one in my KIA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The groundbreaking system, which uses odour sensors on the outside of the car, could spell the end of rural smells invading the cabin on country drives.

When the system detects an unpleasant aroma outside the vehicle it automatically closes the intake vents to stop the air coming in.

It can then release a leafy 'forest' smell, created using essential oils, into the car to combat any lingering nasty whiffs.

Once the sensors no longer detect the offensive odour outside, the vents open again to allow fresh air in.

A Nissan spokesman said: "Utilising a number of advanced technologies, the system is designed to recreate the refreshing climate, fragrance and natural breezes of relaxing forest settings.

"In addition to a conventional exhaust sensor, the system includes the world's first sensor system for detecting various other odours, such as from animals, from outside the vehicle.
"It will then start opening or closing the intake vents as needed without constant driver input."

Nissan says that the aromas released by the air conditionaing system have been specially created to stimulate the driver and increase alertness.

thanks! Had a test drive off the raod and a real offroader! Smooth with only a click on the 4-wheel drive mode! Being a little bro of Armada, not bad!

My only concern is the resale value and saleability of it. How fast can i dispose it do you once i leave Qatar?

The larger the car the harder it is to cool... simple. While some cars do have better AC than others there is little to do to be able to completely beat the heat in Doha.

Thats great invention....it was supposed to come to multiplexes to give additional dimension to the movies..."smell" ....smell the movie and the sourrounding.

It works something similar to the inkjet printer...spraying mixture of scents to get the right combination.

Hmm, interesting to see what they will do with the bad smell coming from inside the car here in Doha... which I imagine is a bigger problem than the smell outside.
