Do you know of any places in Doha that chip Nintendo wii so that we can play both uk and us games?

You should check the back of the games - the ones we got with the wii (from Carrefour) are USA made. the games we got for presents from the uk which we took back to Doha have UK made. I dont know if all wii consoles sold here are US or UK compatible so beware.

which ever one you buy, you can still use in the UK but you will have to use the games that relate to the region on the wii or playstation, or get it chipped so you can play both. I've not played on the playstation but have played on the wii and it is great for all the family. My daughter & her husband have a wii and my 4 year old grandson does some good bowling, he even beat my daughter, lol.

Hope this helps.

I have the exact opposite problem as you...

I got the wii when I was in the US

and I got the games when I was in France

and then found they are not compatible...

After that I didn't bother to try buying games locally as I assumed they would be incompatible...

In fact I got one of my friends to bring a couple of games over when they came from the US

But if what you are saying is true...

it means that I can buy games locally and they should work on my system...
