A nightmare for any parent !

I am not fazed by much, BUR what is our society becoming???????????

SORDID photos were taken INSIDE the nursery at the centre of a child porn probe, cops said yesterday.

The revelation came as nursery worker Vanessa George, a 39-year-old mum, was charged with seven serious indecency offences.

The Little Ted's centre in Plymouth, Devon - which takes in tots mainly aged between two and four - has been closed indefinitely.

Horrified parents were in tears as they left a meeting called by police over the investigation.
They have been asked to fill out a questionnaire detailing distinguishing features of their children.

From their answers, police will try to determine whether any of the kids are in vile photos taken inside the nursery.

A source called the pictures “pretty nasty” and said they are at the more serious end of the child porn scale.

One mother with a son at the nursery — attended by 64 children mainly aged between two and four — said: “We are upset.
“It’s like a surreal dream. There are a lot of angry people.”

Around 100 parents and other relatives packed the closed meeting — called by cops after the arrest of nursery worker George.

The married mother of two has been at Little Ted’s Child Day Care Unit in Plymouth, Devon, for three years.
She was held after the nursery’s logo was spotted on alleged paedophile images by police investigating another case.

Police have taken away computers and other items including children’s potties.
They are now set to sift through “hundreds, if not thousands” of images taken from mobile phones, laptops and PCs.
They will be painstakingly examined by experts in a bid to identify children. But officers warned many feature just their bodies.

My old company was running a huge campaign against 'Child abuse/pornography' taking a moral/social responsibility under CSR policy.

Old stuff (2006)....

"Some of you may be aware that volunteers have been working on a financial industry led initiative to eradicate commercial internet child pornography by January 2008.

The problem is serious - of convicted offenders in the US possessing illegal pornographic material, 38% had material relating to children under 6 years old and 19%, children under the age of 3. These are infants who are unable to make a choice and some of whom die from the abuse. And estimates of the global revenue generated by the sale of child pornography range from US$3billion to US$20billion in 2004 - and growing. In contrast, the global revenue of the online music industry in 2004 was US$3 billion.

A founder member of the Financial Coalition Against Child Pornography launched in Washington DC in March this year. Other members include Citigroup, JP Morgan Chase, Bank of America, American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Microsoft, Google, paypal and e-gold. The intent of the FCACP is to prevent or disrupt the use of the international electronic payments system by internet child pornography merchants.

Light A Million Candles was launched in Singapore. This is an email chain to raise awareness of the issue and to ask for support by lighting a candle on www.lightamillioncandles.com (the link is below). It has been translated into 21 languages which you may use as appropriate in your country. No money is being asked for.

Concurrently a 60 second TV commercial is being run in 110 commercial and business buildings in Singapore during the IMF meetings being held there.

Please support the cause by lighting a candle and sending the email to friends, relatives, colleagues and business contacts.

For those of you who want to know more about the issue, (Watchmen on the Walls) and the proposed solution (Eradicating the Commercial Viability of Child Pornography)."

In the West most families with children require 2 incomes. It doesn't mean they don't love their children. No parent can be with their child 24/7 and don't forget a lot of abuse takes place WITHIN the family. This is a horrible case, but the parents are not to blame.

Everyone is guilty to some extent in whats happening. DOn't you see how lax the laws are on these people and how easily they can hide their identities. Enough pressure is not being put on polticians and beurocracy to crackdown on abusers.

What I dont understand is what kind of a person would watch porn shot on kids aged 2-4? Surely must have a more than certifiably deranged mind to actually go n search for such a thing!!

Big international racket is going on.....they are targeting kids from developing and poor countries with the help of corrupt police and politicians. We have seen many such examples in India in last couple of years. Mostly westerners have been found guilty in cases happened in India. (no offence please....)

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/india/2454096/Britons-acquitted-of-child-abuse-convictions-in-India.html

Another case happened near New Delhi couple of years ago known in media as "Nathari case".

It shows.....deep fault lines in our society where as educated, wealthy and respactble people of our society are found guilty.

that's right arien, nowhere is safe.you can't help but let the kids go to these if you are in working class and strive to make ends meet.

But it's the parents duty to build up the environment where kids will open up to you and notice any unusual behaviors.

I don't know how far this is true, but i heard that in daycares they use sleeping pills coz they got so many kids to look after.

I know how hard it is to look after two kids but imagine a whole lot..

By Arien• 11 Jun 2009 12:01
Arien

Nowhere is safe, nursery, playschool, primary.....

Make sure we communicate to the kid on a daily basis on how the day was . There should be also efforts from the parents to have enough room and freedom between them n the kid to disclose and open up on whatver subject they would want to talk.

Most cases, kids get scared and they keep things themselves and the issues gets worse.

I highly doubt any of those parents have Gucci products or expensive cars, if they did they could afford a live in nanny. They're working class parents who are trying to make both ends meet and pay the bills.

Such a sick, sick, f#(k!!!

What's happening to our world today? You can't even trust a nursery/daycare center to care for your babies? What's next...primary school teachers molesting students?

It's not because things are difficult that we don't dare, it's because we don't dare that makes things difficult!

A friend of mine had to work on a case like this and he said it was so stressful and disturbing that he never wants to do it again. Isn't it sad that society would judge a man as being a criminal if he were to do what this woman has done and yet the woman is seen as mentally sick. Regardless of who has done this to these poor innocent children and their families it is unforgiveable, sick and a disgrace to the human race! Male or female they should be punished equally!!

Read a similar story in Bangalore India, that was a single 28 yr old female who molested all the small boys (aged 3 to 5) in the kindergarten...and when the parent of one child complained they terminated that female to save the reputation of the Nursery...

Children were complaining pain in their pvt parts which lead to the fact that this B***h was the one behind that...

this is horrible. But I actually did read something a while back about how often, particularly with really young kids, a woman is involved somehow in pedophilia rings like this...but usually with a man running the show...

I feel bad for her family- particularly her kids. First, if they ahd nothing to do with it, why should they be punished? this is going to haunt them for life...

secondly- if she abused other's children, whos to say she didn't start with her own?

But i wonder: are people more shocked by this because it was a MOTHER, and not a FATHER, involved? would it be any less hideous if it'd been a man?

Can't imagine being her husband and daughters:

Shocked family is left 'in pieces' after mum charged in porn probe

Thursday, June 11, 2009, 07:00THE family of a Plymouth nursery worker charged with paedophile offences were said to be "in pieces" as they left their Efford home with their faces covered yesterday.

The husband and two daughters of 39-year-old Vanessa George were driven away in an unmarked car by police family liaison officer DC Paul Dobinson.

DC Dobinson said: "Obviously, they are in pieces.

"It's been a massive shock to everybody, grandparents, the daughters and the husband. They are just taking it from day to day."

He said it was unusual that a family liaison officer should be allocated to the suspect's family, but under the circumstances it was felt that they needed support.

Journalists from national newspapers had been staking out the house on Douglass Road where Mrs George and her family lived.

As they dashed to the waiting car, the two girls covered their heads with coats or blankets.

Mrs George's husband, Andrew, wore a parka with the hood up and a scarf across his face. He took time to lock the door but kept his head down.

Yesterday afternoon officers returned twice to the house, collecting bags of clothes and bedding, and later Mr George's car.

DC Dobinson said: "They will be staying at another address for a substantial amount of time."

Mrs George's blue Vauxhall Astra was parked outside the house and had one window covered by tarpaulin. Broken glass was on the floor next to the missing passenger window, which had been smashed by police officers who wanted to search the car and couldn't find the keys.

Throughout the afternoon, children played in the park opposite the Georges' house.

Neighbours said that Mr and Mrs George had moved in about 20 years ago and the daughters, both aged under 17, had been born there.

One woman said that her daughter had been a good friend of Mrs George's eldest.

She said: "She called round for her on Tuesday morning and a policeman opened the door. She did get a bit of a hard time at school for being friends with her. Children can be cruel like that."

Another neighbour said: "It's shocked us."

She said she had known Mrs George for 19 years "to say hello to" and had always found her polite.

"I always said she brought up her girls very well," she said.

However, some residents of the street, which borders a green space with a children's play park, said they were concerned about the possibility of vigilante violence.

Neighbour Barbara Dean said: "I think there will be trouble once this gets around Efford.

"They will petrol bomb the house – that's what they're like in Efford."

Mrs Dean's husband Martyn said Mrs George's family were well liked in the area, and used to go away most weekends to their caravan in Cornwall.

Another neighbour, a mother of a young child who did not wish to be named, said: "I dread to think what's going to happen now.

"This is a quiet little estate and I dread to think what kind of people might come round. I don't want any riots in my neighbourhood."

City police chief Jim Webster said: "We are monitoring concerns in the community and we are making sure we have planning put in place for a whole range of eventualities."

Marked patrol cars were regularly driving past the house yesterday evening.
