Is the new rent law applicable when the landlord change its company name?
I have question regarding the new rent law.
My rent contract is expiring and the landlord is requesting a 10% increase on the rent.
When i pointed out about the new rent law, they say that it is not applicable because they are changing the company name.
My old contract is with A company. Now, they are making another company called B, even though the real owner remain the same.
My question is:
Is this new law applicable for my case?
I had the same problem but luckily after discussions my rent stayed the same. Its a fake loophole being used by many.
Seek legal advice.......pay your existing rent through the court.. The law is law after all.
Good luck
