New Mexico parents bring children in car to throw lit fireworks at sleeping homeless

One of my all time favourite songs is “Teach your children Well” by Crosby, Still andNash..

Seems these moronic parents wanted to teach children in a different way…

Cops busted two bumbling Albuquerque parents who allegedly brought along their young children when they chucked lit fireworks from their SUV at a sleeping homeless person, setting the man afire and sending him to the hospital with serious burns.

After their arrest, Joshua Benavidez and Irene Enriquez, both 31, claimed they were trying to “rattle” and “startle” the Native American man when they pulled the ill-advised “prank”

“I just hope he gets through this OK,” said Enriquez as she led into the police station in handcuffs Wednesday. “Our prayers are with him … It was just meant to scare him.”

The victim, Ruben Abeita, was admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit with serious burns .

“I want to apologize to my children and my family and the man that was hurt,” Benavidez told KOB as he and Enriquez sat handcuffed in the back of a police patrol car. “It was just a prank. I was just trying to scare him, that was it.”

Can this be termed as a "prank?" In no way, absolutely. Just because a person is poor, he does not become a toy in the hands of the rich to be played around with.
