hi

you can call Intertec, on 4322010 and speak to a Mr Irshad. they handle dish installations and provide the service.

I think they will be able to answer your questions.

I have taken my dish connection through them.

Oh even if QTel has the inforamtion they will pretend as if they know nothing of what you are talking.

Hi - C band is a certain (low) range of satellite frequencies which results in the need for a much larger dish (c.2m) than the equivalent 'normal' dishes that people in Qatar use for Hotbird, Nilest and Arabsat for example (c.90cm). So it's 'out of the norm' let's say for the majority of domestic-type installers here.

Tell me which channels you're interested in - there may be an easier alternative to Asiasat3.

Otherwise it would cost around $250-350 to install something suitable, at first glance.

Qtel would have strictly NO IDEA what you're taliking about, rest assured!!!

Hi Opus,

Does AsiaSat got coverage in this region?

What is C-band disc, I went to Qtel, and they have TV channel, but I really don't know what it is!

Thanks

Hi Opus,

Thanks for your reply.

I myself do not know anything about installation! I was using a satellite disc and a decorder ( or receiver ) before i arrived here two days ago.

I used to watch the Asian chennals from Singapore / HK / China/ Korea / Jpn. I was using AsiaSat 3. Not sure does asiasat cover this region.

What is C-Band? disc?

Roof should have plenty space, it is brand new apartment block.

go to City Centre shopping mall. There is a shop that sells tv's etc; they also do satelite. I can't remember the name of the shop but it is near carrefour supermarket and Homecentre. Other than that buy the Marhaba booklet. It has been a mine of information for us. Available at Carrefours also. In fact if you find carrefours and feel like giving up ask the guys in the tv section where the satelite shop is. Assuming you're like me and want to get some one in to do it all for you.

Hi - are you looking to do this yourself, from Antenna to decoder, or have it supplied/installed? I assume you're looking at a C-band dish (main TV channel listings)? I've used a couple of 'OK' installers but depending on your roof space / cable runs you may be as well doing it yourself.
