Neutralization/Qatari citizenship. A rumor?

Tarsiers
By Tarsiers

I am not sure if it is a rumor again or not, and that is why I am asking if anyone else other than me heard about some news telling that Qatar started again considering citizenship applications for one specific nationality.

Did anyone else heard about that?

By anonymous• 5 Jun 2012 07:42

For Qatar to have a sustainable future they need more citizens that have a stake in the economy and country.

Thanks anyways for the info:)

"In 2005, a new nationality law came into being, allowing for non-citizen residents who have resided in the country for twenty-five consecutive years to apply for citizenship. However, a maximum of just fifty residents are granted citizenship annually, and there is no such thing as a 'right' to citizenship, even if a non-citizen was born and raised in Qatar. By 2008, only a very small number of applicants had been accepted." here is the link ---> http://www.fanack.com/countries/qatar/population/ethnic-and-religious-composition/nationality-laws.html
