went to a restaurant/bar last week with husband, and saw the strangest thing (granted, I'm fairly new here). There were LOTS of , well, I assumed- Muslim men (in full thobe, head dress, etc) all drinking beer! As a matter of fact, 2 of them had to be escorted out by a hotel (restaurant) manager, into taxis, they were falling down drunk. I thought that drinking alcohol was against Islam??? what is up with this? and if it is not- why can't alcohol be sold in stores and other restaurants?? this was quite confusing to me- any input?

You got to love it, We are still Humans and weak of the flesh!

Someone told me this week, that a sober arab, was singing once in a public restaurant, Tequila, Tequila, every time he mention it, he giggle to himself gui, gui, gui, gui and again, Tequila, Tequila!

At least he got it right, instead of Bequila!

we sometimes forget there is a world of difference between a 'cultural' muslim and a Mu'min.

Just because someone is 'born' (still can't get my head around that concept) a muslium does not mean they can except the 'whole nine yards', so to speak.

There are at least 5 types of 'muslim'.

1 Those that have thought about it long and hard and gladly agree and take it up in all it's aspects - a Mu'min

2 Those that have not thought about it at all and just accept it and live by it's tennents.

3 Those that have thought about it, don't agree 100%, but live as a cultural muslim and don't let it dominate their lives.

4 Those that don't agree at all but live as one in public to keep the peace but have abandoned it in private.

5 Those that have thought about it long and hard and, even though 'born' a muslim, reject the idealogy in both public and private. They may convert to another religion, become agnostic or atheist as a result.

This goes for other faiths as well, not only muslims

Personally I don´t care what they do as long as they don´t cause anyone else any problems.

Must admit that I do have a little chuckle re the hypocrocy.

If you want to see them really enjoying themselves I´m told the Saudi´s put on quite a good show in Bahrain every Thursday and Friday.

just eat another pie

ISLAM IS FAITH,IT IS RELIGION NOT A PERSON.FAITH MAY BE STRONG OR WEAK. ISLAM DID NOT SAID THEM TO DO SO IT IS THEIR OWN RESPONSIBILITY. I DONT THINK ANY RELIGION ALLOW USING ALCOHOL. THIS IS MY EXPERIENCE AS MUSLIM THAT IF ANY MUSLIM DOES WRONG, PEOPLE MARK IT WITH ISLAM BUT ANY OTHER DOSE IT NOBODY SAID HE/SHE WAS CHRISTIAN OR HINDU OR BUDDHIST OR JEW.ONE IRISH MOTHER FORCE HER OWN SON TO---------.I WILL NEVER SAY HER RELIGION OR COUNTRY FORCE HER TO DO THAT.THIS IS HER OWN RESPONSIBILITY.

SO I THINK THERE IS ONLY ONE RELEGION ON EARTH IS ISLAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AM I RIGHT FRIENDS,(?)

PLEASE DONT TAKE IT PERSONALY.

Just as some Catholics use birth control, or have sex out of wedlock, some Jews eat pork, some muslims drink. Just because you proclaim a certain faith doesnt mean you are neccessarily a devout follower. _____________________________________________________

First - Arabs don’t represent Islam if any one wearing Thobe or a Muslim caught in Sinful act doesn’t means he is representing Islam,

If you really want to see Real Muslims then you should be visiting FANAR or Qatar Guest Centre not at any BAR or Club.

The act you see of those men’s at BAR were there personal act not Muslims act

hahahahha..... just keep watching.... and seeing... you will see lot of things..... (what you describe is nothing....)

My only suggestions to non-Muslims here- "Please don't equate Islam with life style of People here... Please please read books about Islam- read Quran and Hadith" for better understanding of Islam.

If there were some Muslim people do mistakes or things forbidden in Islam, these people special cases, and it does not mean that these wrongdoings allowed in Islam

For example, there are bad deeds of some of the same people, your religion or any other religion, but those actions are not allowed and immoral ???

The fact that some people by mistake that does not justify it may do is wrong to blame

There is also Poor people everywhere in the world !!!

Qatar is an Islamic state, yet it allows the sale of alcohol is certain bars/restaurants. This is for the benefit of the visitor and the non-muslim.

If a Muslim, then chooses to go and drink at these establishments, then it is his/her own business and nothing to do with anyone else. He/she is answerable to himeself/herself and God.

Why not just enjoy yourself and let them to their own devices.
