It is a mafia/mob/ganster phrase, meaning we killed the person and dumped him into the river, and he is now "swimming with the fish". In New York, back in the day, they dumped the bodies in the East river because it flowed out to sea.

Whatever...I just liked the phrase a lot. Now go ahead and keep 'gangstering'

Residents of a village in China use fish therapy as a treatment for eczema and psoriasis.

I got this from a site>> “Visitors to the hot spring are placed in a gentle bath filled with many tiny fish. The small fish used in the treatment are then believed to eat the dry skin humans normally shed, thus enabling them to heal some skin diseases.”

“It’s not “Fish got your skin” but “Go swim with the fish”. “Go swim with the fish” means “Go kill yourself” or “Your going to die”. I don’t like this kind of therapy.” Says Aramax a commentor on this topic

Go swim with the fish, can have more than one meaning.

1- Go along with the crowd (majority)

2- I am (or who ever is intended) is out of your league, so dont bother!

3- Get lost, go die!

It all depends on the scentence and tone it was said in!

is an old time gangster expression. I think they used it in "The Sopranos". You are right, it does mean to die.

Go jump in the lake = go away and don't bother me

This is the only idiom I can think of. I haven't heard of "Go swim with the fish" but it may be a regional/local idiom...an idiom created in one area or by one people (like the below kinds of English in the world)

Indian English

Afro-American English

Jinglish (Japanese English)

Konglish (Korean English)

Flipish (Filipino English)

Arab English

Chinglish (Chinese English)
