@Julius, the scar is not a problem, go to the pathology lab and get a PPD (Montox) test done, if the readings are above 15 or so there might be a problem, if not then its okay hopefully.

@ Hasan T, Sputum culture will take anywhere between 10-15 days, just having 20 mm diameter doesnt necessorily means that you have an active TB, because sputum culture will be positive only if you have active pulmonory TB. Best of luck for you all.

Hi iakola,

I am going through the same situations here. The blood test was done then was called up for x-ray twice. Then did the PPD skin test, result came out to be 19 mm with an "L". Then I have been referred to Hamad for sputum test last month. Hamad asked me to go back early August for sputum test result. Hopefully, the result will come back negative. Fingers crossed!

Dear Afzal, Dont worry it is just to confirm that your x ray spots are not of TB. Since you are a smoker your chances of having few scars on the lungs will be emenent, however 20 mm zone is quite concerened, they will either screen you for some more tests and will let you finish a compulsory copurse of medicine before they put you infront of a committe who decides if you can be given pass certificate or reject. But I think since you are related to food handler profession chances are very less for you. Hope for the best brother and quit smoking.
