Here are my views:

1. You may find it somewhat difficult to find a 2BHK within your budget in the Al Sadd area. Suggest you look for one in the old airport road area, Najma, or Muntazah area. Old Airport and Najma would be ideal as these two places have many Indian families staying there and one can easily find Indian groceries and eating places. The rent will also be within your budget.

2. Initially, you can go for a rent-a-car. Go for companies which have a reputation in this field and there are several of them. There are always issues with non-popular ones. But after you have settled down, if possible go for a new sedan. There are several brands in the market. Toyota, Nissan and Honda are among the popular ones followed by Hyndai and Kia. These cars also have a resale value especially if you are the first owner. Buying a second-hand car is almost always a "blind buy" and you may have to be really patient and look around to find something good. If you can come across someone leaving Qatar for good, you may be able to find something reliable and trouble-free if you are lucky. Keep looking at Qatar Living "vehicle" page. Avoid buying from car re-sellers. Be careful always as there some people who will try to con you. Take the help of colleagues who have been here in Doha for sometime and know something about cars.

3. I am not able to say much on school matters as I do not have much information on this.

Trust this helps.
