Motorbike Accident at Abu Hamour Road
Tonight, when passing thru Abu Hamour Road, a police car stopped on the road side with one white Camry and a "black" thing laid on the ground. I dont know what is it & what happened there, as I was on the other side of the road to a friend's home.
On the way home I passed that road again, but on the side where the police car stopped before. When I get closer, finally I found out that the "black thing" was a sport motorcycle (Suzuki brand) laid on the ground in the severely damage conditions.
Nobody is there on that time, except me & other bypasser who is curious about what happened there.
I hope the driver was safe...
Here are the photos:
hate motorbikes.. :P
Looking at the type of motor bike, it appears to be one of the faster motor bikes, normally associated with young fast and furious Qatari lads.
I am sorry to say this, but one less idiot off the Road?

HE WHO DARES WINS
jdylan said Severe Damage? ...
I agree. Severely damaged means driver is also badly hurt since he/she does not have any bodily protection except for the head. In sever injuries, the helmet would only be taken off at the hospital after X-rays/ MRI/CT scan are taken to rule out skull and cervical fractures.
jdylan, the helmet should be remove if he was to be put into a strecher that's why the helmet is sitting there...
Meh, it's only a rice Burner, they are cheap.

"You cannot propel yourself forward by patting yourself on the back."
is a well known pastime in these parts. In places with a longer history of traffic law enforcement, such actions are punished!
Nothing shouts "you asked for it" louder than an Italian exotic blasting down the road and collecting 30 or 40 losers gathered around a car accident. Concerned citiznes, gimme a break. Concerned citizens read the paper and write letters to authorities, not gloat on someone's misfortune.
But on the other hand, for a town that has a FIM sanctioned racetrack with frequent trackdays a half hour ride away, it is obvious that the crotchrocketeers are considerable sociopaths.
I thought I did not have a life, GET A F***ing Life People!!!!
even from a pic it might be a really bad landing,,hope the driver is ok,,
Even in cases where a motorcycle suffers little damage a rider may be seriously injured or killed.
This type of motorcycle in North America is commonly called (please excuse the vulgar term) a 'crotch rocket' - meaning a motorcycle designed to accelerate quickly and go very fast. It is very easy for a young man to use poor judgement when riding a motorcycle like this one.
Let's presume the best about the rider. Either he will recover from the accident or God will be merciful to him. In either case, we should keep him and his family in prayer.
is enjoyable, especially in the nice weather. But wheelie is something else, I prefer to do it in bmx.
In most of accident involving a bike, the rider will suffer more, no matter who did the mistake
Only reason because I work in a place 5 minutes from home.
I guess one has just to be alert, but cannot we all just take a little off the 'pedal to the metal' ?, why is it so difficult specially for men to realise driving is not showing off, it's just getting from A to B!
the camry driver is just passed the driving test & still driving 1 inch from the steering wheel. This kind of drver normally will make a sudden lane change without caution & sign, then the bike from behind press the brake... sliding... rolling ...bouncing so n so...

Right, I assume a Land Cruiser kicked the cyclist off.
Why is everyone assuming that the Motorcyclist was at fault ?

It's bad enough the way some of these idiot motorcycle riders behave on the roads.
Worse yet is that most just wear a tshirt and jeans when riding, offering them no protection at all against the inevitable accident.
I don't have much sympathy for such fools.
They know they should ride cautiously and wear appropriate safety clothing. But they don't, endangering themselves and others, including sensible drivers.
Well, i can see that the chassy frame was ripped off..
Sorry to say but they deserve it the way they drive these dangerous bikes. Anyhow, I wish for a good health for the biker.
riding a bike is one thing, but on the way home a rider came blasting past us on the Corniche in heavy traffic, and to add a little finesse to the occasion, he pulled a WHEELIE in the outside lane.
If anyone here listens to ESPN.com's Dave Dameshek, he would most certainly say 'JERK!'

.
the head was INSIDE the helmet!

I bet you're right. The driver probably wasn't wearing the helmet at all. :(
i saw it yesterday at around 12 midnite..
The helmet probably fell off his mirror when he crashed!
i think we need to make a special site for uploading accident pictures from Doha.
that bike is not ridable after that crash, this is a very very severe accident that he has, the frame of the bike has been completely shattered and not just scratched
I recommend a thread of ONLY accident pictures, with minimal stories, just where it occurred. I have quite a few pictures myself I could put up. How do you add pictures in these threads? It says images can be added, but how?
when medics arrive on an accident scene, they don't know if the victim has a spinal injury. It is sometimes hard to remove a tight helmet from the head of a guy without seriously moving his head, further injuring his/her spine.
I read a case about a "good samaritan" getting sued for millions because he pulled an accident victim from a car crash, not knowing she had severe injuries. As a result, she is paralyzed for life. If he had left her in there, a trained medic would have left her there and waited for the firemen to pull the door open.
Hence, since the helmet is there, he probably took it off, or was conscious enough to tell the medics he was alright. Just my opinion.
Probably the desert jackals drag the body to some remote area for dinner...
I have no pity for someone being killed in the road while speeding like a demon. If that person die, probably was at his own choice and decision process.
If that was a purely accident, then my prayers go out for him and the family.
sitting there does not always mean the driver is save (but I hope & pray he is). What about other part of his body, is it protected? does he use body armor? leather jacket? etc.
Look at the frame, how can it be like that if there is no strong impact force? either to the ground or to that white car. I hope he was thrown away from the bike and land safely on the soft ground... I hope
jdylan, your photo showing a removed fork, but it is a movable & removable part with the link (which may weak), but the frame was still in one piece. But see this suzuki frame, it is a solid alloy, and it was torn apart like a paper, what about the human body???
Did anyone check inside the helmet for a human head?

I'm not judging your appraisal skills, but I wouldn't exactly call that motorcycle "severely damaged". It almost looks like you could ride to thing away from the accident. The fact his helmet is sitting there pretty much says he walked away from it. If he was hurt, wouldn't they leave it on until he got to the hospital?
Man, you ride a bike over here, you have a death wish. Riding is dangerous enough elsewhere, but with the way they drive here? Forget it.
