Mistake, or outright cheating? Carrefour
This has happened to me so many times now, that I refuse to believe it's just an ignorant mistake by the staff.
While buying fruits and veg with different prices based on variety/origin, the staff always use the higher price. For example: Red Grapes (Lebanon) - QR. 11/kg, Red Grapes Globe (USA) - QR. 17.50/kg. I picked up the the Lebanese ones as they looked fresher, with an advantage of cheaper price. On getting home I saw that I have been charged at Qr. 17.5/kg.
This has never happened to me at FFC, just carrefour, consistently and at the following branches - Villagio, Landmark and City Centre.
1-make sure each item's cost matches one by one as the cashier enters them.
2-Check that the total count of items matches, take your time .
3-make sure all what you buy goes into the plastic bags you are taking away with you!
4-Check that you receive the correct change.
5-If you sense something is not right ask politely for explanation, dont be shy the cashier is there to serve you .
make this a habbit.
i too had xperienced this b4.. wenever i shop from carrefour, am charged at least .25 to .5 extra on some items wen the bill comes..
I am always amazed how the staff at Carrefour can tell the nationality of tomatoes just by looking at them in the bag...but they always get it right in my experience
CARREFOUR honestly cheating huh. Try carrefour abu hamour area and try to experience the arrogant guy (male) at the cashier booth; the story happened like this....a guy in front of me dressed as labourer probably from full day work and he is about to pay his few grocery items..then this young male cashier look at him as if like measuring the guy appearance and shaking is head! That gesture can't stop myself to ask the cashier..i said friend why you are shaking your head, is there any problem? He answered me impolitely, WHY? WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?! So everyone look at him amazingly.
That is level of customer granted, further no one can argue with evidence so it is advantage for them......poor customer........
if that'smostly the case, choose the item with the higher price to be equal..
Good It Was Not City Centre Parking Rant
Had a similar incident once.
Bought cold meat and the guy at the counter weighed it and told me the cost was 32.75 qr.
When I got to teh cash till, the bar code reader charged 37.50.
I complained. They checked the label and said it "must be faulty".
Sent it back to the counter. They re-weighed and came back with 34.65 qr.
I gave up and left the item at the till :O(
