Milk in Qatar
Are there any milk experts out there? Now I could be wrong, but it seems to me that milk here in Qatar can be used much longer after its use by date, than it can back home in the UK.
In the UK, just a mater of days past the use by date the milk becomes unusable with a nasty whiff (smell).
Here in Qatar I am still using milk over a week past its use by date on a regular basis. It doesn't smell bad, and I haven't died or even become ill from it yet. I hate waste so I try and use it for as long as I can before popping out to get some fresh.
So why does milk last longer here?
I have found some useful advice on the subject if anyone has any health concerns on the subject: http://www.healthline.com/blogs/healthline_connects/2009/04/drinking-mil...
Producing longer lasting high priced milk. Does pregnant cows only give milk or any cow?
seem to last longer...
I find that too... however the chocolate milks don't:-(
Damn, that reminded me of one of my mum's students. She claimed to have never used soap/shower gel on her face or body. Only milk.
You're on. Say when ;)
Gin and milk is medicinal. Or didn't you know? :p
Choca what do you use milk for??
Gin & Milk?? :-P
Milk never lasted more than 1 hour in my fridge so never thought about it till now...
Same here. Am not a milk drinker, hence the milk lasts a while, although I usually avoid buying fresh milk.
I read somewhere that you can dramatically increase its shelf life by using the right shelf :) (And without killing yourself.)
So instead of the shelf on the door, where people typically keep their milk, use one of the higher shelves in the main body of the fridge.
Really works for me :)
Walla! whose milk was it.. that lasted so long?
Yanni... mare? goat? ewe? buffalo? camel? ass? zebra? reindeer? yak?
Each has its own expiry date.
Camel milk is expires the fastest...

may be u may drink it for 1 or 2 days after expiry but not 1 week.

over a week past? that doesn't sound right... :P
Better quality of cows? I've noticed the same too, however i wouldn't want to take the chance so we use up the milk before its expiry date. If you notice its the same with curds.
