Michael Jordan - Greatest of the Greats !
Michael Jordan is inducted into the Basketball Hall of fame.
I know , I know. Its a silly sport. Supremely fit men, usually from single parent families, wearing silly long shorts running around playing for a world series no one else , but America and perhaps the Philipines cares about ... BUT
Once in a while , along comes a supreme athlete. Someone who transcends sport and becomes an icon..
To me, Michael Jordan was all that is good about sport.
He showed ferocity and flair, grace, athleticism, modesty, mental toughness. He was a phenomenon and should be a role model for the kids today..
It's that damn Obama..Ever since Michelle put her arm round HER MAJESTY, I am being "pulled" to all things American ...:)

persons handling his career and financial interest are really good in raking sponsorship. Definitely he is one of the greatest. I still go for Muhammad Ali! or Manny Pacquiao for the meantime! Lol!

I like Michael too.
It was because he was such a good player (one of, if not the best in my opinion) that he obtained so much commercial sponsorship and marketing. Same as why the likes of Woods, Ronaldo, Federer etc have so many commercial interests.
It just so happened that his appearance on the scene coincided with the advent of big time marketing and sponsorship deals.
before his real stardom (between the fall of Magic and Jordan's rise) a documentary about Michael's life was presented including those handling his financial matters. He was exploited to the hilt that every income-generation commercial sponsorship were attributed to him. Of course Kobe will idolize him because Kobe came after Michael's time.
It's the same commercial things going on on all present-day sport's greats such as Tiger, Beckham, Ronaldo, etc. etc.
Did you know who's Michael's idol?

Michael wasn't packaged. He was unique. He lived for the sport and was a gentleman to boot. People like Kobe Bryant used him as a role model and others would do well to do so also.
Micheal Jordan personified all that is good in sport..
is in it's peak and commercialism is also high. There are more better players before him but Michael was packaged very nicely during his time! Just the same, where is he now or after his haydays?

That's my Mike!

MJ... my idol truly a sports ambassador for the youths.
Last day he fall into tears when he's watching his son Marcus playing for Chicago Whitney Young who defeated Waukegan at Illinois Class 4A Championship. Marcus top scored with 19 points including the last four free throws to won 69-66
oh... Michael is my secret love... ;)
