I been offered a job as accountant with a total package of QR11,500, family status. Would that be enough to have a decent living in qatar? My family (with 2 kids) would not be living with me, but during summer break they will stay with me for 2 to 3 months every year. I would like to ask if its easy to find a decent 1br with bathroom and small receiving area in al sadd or industrial area? if so how much would be the rent monthly? I appreciate your inputs and thanks in advance. My tentative arrival would be on the 1st week of april if ever.

Good for you! but I think with your position they will provide an accommodation as you arrive, then it's your decision to move to another apartment if you don't like the arrangement they made for you.

Don't worry everything is flexible here!!!

Doha is small Al Saad and Al sadd is probably the same...

Don't forget to bring International Driving license with you and for your wife so you two can drive around straight away as you arrive. They don't just change Asian license here into Qatari license, You have to take a test and if you can't past it, you have to do the schooling and it's quite risky to drive around without license. The taxi expenses will be quite expensive for you to use regularly.

Good luck!!!

Then you'll have an idea of how much you should really get.

Good thing in Middle East, only in Middle East you can have a real generous offer in comparison to any other country.

Here they provide the following:

Monthly basic salary with allowances

Housing Allowances

Medical

Return tickets for you and your wife + 2 kids(so don't make more than 2).

Schools allowances for 2 kids again,(so don't make more than 2).

On top of that they will also offer you settling in loan if you're lucky with your company.

Another loan to be able to buy a car

And a credit card limit up to 10 X of your salary to put you completely in debt, so you think 10 X before leaving them, otherwise stay for 10 years with them.....

Do unto others, what you want to do unto you!!!

kabayan please elaborate what you mean by total.

does this mean, basic salary+housing allowance+car\transportation allowance+medical allowance+tickets?

if they will provide the tickets and medical separately then go for it.

good luck!
