Happened many times, but people still fall for it….

Colombo: Sri Lankan police busted a gang that demanded millions in ransom from young men whom their befriended on Facebook by posing as women.

Investigations revealed they posed as girls and lured men to send their nude pictures. Later they threatened to publish them online if they did not pay the amount they demanded.

The incident came to light when an army officer filed a complaint against them after being forced to pay Sri Lankan Rs.210,000.

According to court records, the army officer testified that he received a ‘friend request’ on Facebook from a ‘young woman’ and they started chatting. Later ‘she’ sought his nude pictures and videos, which he sent across to ‘her’ through WhatsApp.

The officer soon learnt he was being cheated when he was asked to pay money. He allegedly paid a total of Sri Lankan Rs.210,000, he revealed.

Question: What makes reasonable human being (both men and women) to post naked pictures of themselves to strangers ?
