Hello Mates,

Hope all is well.

Wanted to post this thread few days ago but postponed it for today to get comments from as many as possible as I believe most of us have resumed their duties today.

Well.. Qatar as a country is really doing well..we have COP18 summit, sustainability centres etc etc..

Just as a social awareness would like to know about your thoughts on saving yourself, your family friends, the whole world and its future.

"Nobody can do everything but everybody can do something."

Be Honest on your comments..I hope you respect your own self than others respect you for your comments.

So here we go...you must be falling in any of these categories.

1. I dont think about future...I am a happy go lucky easy going charming dudee who just believe in today's happiness..

2. I used to advise people but still I did not do anything personally.

3. I cant change the world but as a matter of fact and as a matter of a living being I am doing these things in my life.

So mates, please share something which u r doing individually in your life with respect to the a/m subject and discussion... this can help others also to incorporate the same in their lives..

Regards,

Living Being.

Humans are very social developed animals thus they always need someone/something to follow.

except going to work/parties in my car I like to

use bicycles or foot steps for all other works...

as roads here are not safe it is difficult these

days.. may be in future it will be a good option..Inshallah. (:

Woww Fatima Excellent.

I was just about to ask...do parents teach their kids about it..

and you are already doing it.. Very good.

Personally I was very bad in it few years ago..

I used to keep the AC on 24 hours.

I used to go in Car even if I have do do something in nearby street.

I used to put the TV on the whole night just not to be scared of my loneliness.

and so many other things...but slowly i realised and trying to avoid slowly..

Ur welcome Brit..Sure... Car exhaust alone is held accountable

for 20% of CO2 released on a global scale..ur research will

tremendously have a good impact on automotive industries.

in conserving energy whenever, and wherever I can,and advice others to do so. I hardly use the ac come end October(never use em in winter), and make sure I switch off the ACs even in peak summer for at least a few hours a day.

Our home only has energy saving lamps, and them too I switch off as long as it's not in use.

All electrical goods and switches are switched off when not in use.

I avoid as much as pos using the microwave and stick to using the gas stove instead, whenever possible.

And whenever I go to these ladies prayer rooms, I try my best to switch off the lights and ACs once I'm done, ie of course if it's only me and my daughter using the area.

I know these are all just drips in the ocean but nonetheless I sleep better knowing I'm not a waster!

actually, I'm thinking of converting the KIA to run on liquid hydrogen, thus having zero exhaust emissions and very low noise.

Apparently everyone is interested in discussing Risk's lungi and Bitexpat’s Pink Kia and Darude's Camel and Khanan's..you know what.

I do my bit in saving energy. I switch on A/C only when really needed and never forget to switch it off when I leave the room. I use energy saving bulbs. I plant more and more plants in my garden. I know this is nothing. But that’s all I can do. If any of my family members and me is going to the same area we go in one car it is difficult at times. But I manage to convince them.

I don’t wash car at home because we need more water than car wash.

Don't think much about COP18.. it's just an excuse for a few hundred people to get together for a freebie and pat each other on the back..

Having said that , Climate Change is a reality and we should do our little bit to help reduce the carbon footprints.

How were you able to arrive or define those categories. What if I am not under that category? Can I define one myself?
