The Marriage Expiry Date!
Look at this,people....
=========================================================
More bad news for new couples and worse news for the old ones. If you never quite understood why your relationships turn rocky after a while, heres some information.
While most newlyweds imagine that they will live happily ever after, the true picture is different, says a new research which found that for an average couple the honeymoon is well and truly over after exactly two years, six months and 25 days. The reason being: by that time, both partners have started to take each other, and their relationship, for granted, according to research.
Researchers found that after second wedding anniversary, men are far more likely to leave dirty washing on the floor and the toilet seat up, while women stop wearing make-up, slouch around in pyjamas and hog the TV remote control. The shocking survey of 5,000 couples by research company OnePoll revealed that more than half feel undervalued in their relationship.
By the third anniversary, things take a bigger U-turn, for 83 per cent say they can't even be bothered to celebrate the occasion, the study found. The research found that during the first few months of marriage, 83 per cent regularly held hands when they went out together, compared with just 38 per cent later on.
This poll isn’t all negative, however. Despite revealing their bad habits, respondents do still remember the good times when romance was high on the agenda.
Partners would cuddle more than eight times a day before their first wedding anniversary, compared with five or less after a few years of marriage, the study revealed. Forty three per cent have not had breakfast in bed together since they walked down the aisle. And an unfortunate 60 per cent say they have not been surprised with a romantic night out since they got married.
"It would appear many couples are stuck in a rut and, while they still love their other half, they are a little too comfortable in each other's company," the Daily Express quoted OnePoll spokesman John Sewell, as saying. "This poll isn't all negative, however. Despite revealing their bad habits, respondents do still remember the good times when romance was high on the agenda.
"The odd romantic meal would probably be all many couples need to spice things up a bit. And small gestures such as tidying up, helping with the housework and relinquishing control of the TV remote would go a long way," the rep added
A staggering 70 per cent claim little gestures such as flowers, a cup of tea in bed or opening the car door are long gone after the second anniversary. But despite not giving their relationship as much thought as they once did, 61 per cent say they fondly remember the exact date they first laid eyes on their partner.
Whatever the survey might tell, but the couple truly in love would always find methods to revive their charm.
Oh these polls are so annoying. Yes things change a bit after marriage but so what, you enter a new phase which is different from the early stages. Socks on the floor, toilet seat up or down, bit annoying but who cares(theres more important things in life). The bond you have together after all these years is amazing. Theres nothing more romantic than having no make up on, lazing on the couch, wearing pjs with your kids running around laughing and pillow fighting. These are the important things in a marriage..
LOL.....way to go!!!GIRL POWER!!!yeah!!! :-D

Funnily enough they made a pole on the streets in Germany not long ago where they asked couples if there marriage were on something like a 7 year basis would they renew the marriage contract again. I think about 70% of all couples said no way. Food for thought.

but isn't a marriage cert. given by the govt. of india needed for getting a family visa, getting a birth cert. for your kid (when you decide to have one)etc.?esp. since you said that the cert. you have now is valid only in qatar.....
Keep smiling!
Saggi!
Guys we have a certificate from the church we got married in that we were there:) I believe we just need to get it attested by the Indian Embassy, but thats valid only in Qatar. For all legal purpose in India we need a Marriage cerrtificate from the Registrar office which we havent applied for, we need to go there with 3 witnesses and register and then after 30 days go with the same witnesses to the same place and get married:) That is the procedure according to Indian Special marriage act:)

marriage is something like a contract in itself, isn't it?forget about all the love and bonding bit for a while.....it's basically a kind of contract wherein two people agree to remain together for the rest of their life.....so why should it be irrevocable?right?relationships don't come with life-time guarantee cards.....and as long as the contract validity is for a good measure of time,i don't think it's a very bad idea either.....
Keep smiling!
Saggi!
lol owen, i like your idea of changing sponsorship...pmsl...
shhh owen dont say that else you'll need a NOC from your current sponsor to do so. thats how it is in Qatar anyways :) Saggi tying the knot! mabrook do i get any laddoos and ice cream??
Good Fortune always comes knocking at your door...when you are sh*tting in the toilet!! :)

Well QS, why not eh? maybe they could also add in cancellation huh,.. for those who want out already, minus the gruelling procedures of a divorce, one click and voila! marriage cancelled...lol
LOL......good idea!imagine the scene where the hubby asks the wife,"so are you renewing the contract or not?" ROFL.....
Keep smiling!
Saggi!
with my own big day not very far off,i must say that such articles are a bit spirit-dampening! :S
Keep smiling!
Saggi!
You know what.. it’s quite a good idea, to make a marriage certificate renewable! Like your RP in Qatar. . Whenever it’s a time to renew your RP you are getting a bit nervous, whether it will be renewed or not. The same with the marriage… In order to be approved for the renewal, both sides will have to review some of their types of behavior, and will try to show their best sides at least once a 2.5 years.. which could be very healthy and beneficial for the marriage.
