Map of Doha

My name is Sandra and I am Retail Sales Manager for Marhaba.

I have been doing some research and found the map of Doha on this web-site. I believe that the map that you are using came from Marhaba and as such you are infringing our copyright by using it.

The map is unique to us. It is not to scale and there are actually some flaws in the map regarding the landscape. The map on your website has the Marhaba flaws.

We would like you to remove it from your web-site.

True Novi. They should be visiting the establishments as paying customers and writing a review based on that. I'm available for employment in this role if anyone's interested.

if the magazine / newspaper writer getting the freebies, of course they wont say anything bad ...

One day perhaps we'll get a regular 'Time Out Doha'. The yearly edition they currently release is pretty useless, but once Qatar has enough going on to make it worth while I expect they'll start a monthly edition, and then perhaps even weekly. It could be years before Qatar is that happening though.

Imagine that - a weekly magazine with events listings, plus reviews that aren't afraid to say if something is bad.

I think QH can still do better. For instance their November issue has nothing about the board walk at the pearl activities. Although they have a full scheduled entertainment program that lasts till the new year.

And between the first copy I bought and the second one, they took out the opening times of the bars. Who's bright idea was that then???

Did you Google it first?

QH and Marhaba are kinda trying to achieve different things. QH is a monthly 'what's happening' magazine, while Marhaba is more of a guide to living in Qatar.

Let's be honest here, Marhaba is an invaluable tool for expats both old and new (second only to QL ;-), but it does contain a lot of false and out-dated information.

QH wins hands down...

No skanky, but it's copyright infringement, and they're losing money if people access the map from this site rather than buying a copy for themselves.

I've not actually seen the thread with the Marhaba map on it though.

This is a better map anyways; http://www.gisqatar.org.qa/ExploreEn/

Would you also like us to stop recommending Marhaba to new expats?
