From where did Bush get the information that Mandela had died?
its weird that the PResient of the so-called powerful nation doesnt even know what goes on outside the States.
it's all this 'titular' stuff where presidents are concerned in US - the US public want someone who's persona they like. That's the one they vote for and maybe the policies of that party, also. But sheesh they don't 'alf get it wrong sometimes when it comes to who they elect to stand on the world stage.
Oh sorry, that word 'world' ... whenever I type 'world' into google for any statistics, it always comes up as USA statistics.
That really bugs me !
I even tried Global - and STILL it came up with USA first.
I EXIST OUTSIDE OF THE USA (and ought to make a cup of coffee now..)

Someone asked why there were no Iraqis stepping up to help the transition like Mandela did in South Africa. His reply was - Saddam Hussein killed anyone who might have had the potential to do this. Anyone who spoke out aganist Saddam's regime or tried to bring change to Iraq. Therefore, any "potential" Mandelas were killed. So he said - Mandela is dead - there are no Mandelas left in Iraq. I saw the press conference live the other day. I happen to have the news on at that time. This is not verbatum but it is the gist of his comments.
Unfortunately the media love to take things out of context. Whether you agree with someone's policies or not I find the press these days very annoying. Too bad there are very few real journalists out there anymore. All too often someone's personal feelings and politics creep into their reporting.
Just thought you would want to know the "whole story".
