MAN ON WAY TO SEE DYING AUNT

A 32 stone man who was on his way to say goodbye to a dying aunt was thrown off a transatlantic flight for being too fat. Sandy Russell was escorted off the Air Transat plane from Gat-wick to Toronto by a stewardess last Saturday. He was then offered another flight for the transatlantic journey – but only if he paid for two full-price tickets. The 32-year-old said he could not afford the £928 charge and his aunt died of bowel cancer in Canada two days after he was due to see her.
IM I tie 10 kg weights around my ankles ;-)
On windy days, WK has to be tied down with a staywire in case he gets blown away. :)
Is it possible for the fat passengers to adjust the weight with the slim ones.
You want to pay reduced rates, WK? Join an airline :P
lol IM true :-P
deepb I am skinny, with a bit of a squeeze, 3 people my size can fit in 2 seats, shouldn't I be paying less with the same logic?
WK if they take your weight into consideration they will fly you free....
It's nothing out of the ordinary. If they can't fit in one seat, they need to pay the price of two. Why should the airlines run into a loss to accommodate obese people?
what if the weight of the passenger is very less, do they charge less ??
Weight is fast becoming an important factor. I recently saw a program in BBC about airlines changing policy towards obese passengers. I think similar thing happened to a well known obese Hollywood actor few weeks back and that was in news everywhere.
Sooo sad.... it is happening in every airline.....
Why don't they charge me half of the prices if weight is the factor involved :(
P.S.- Post the link when you post a newspaper report.
Many airlines have similar rules now.
By the way, why is everyone having jammed caps lock today?
