Man drives 870 miles, spends £410 in petrol and food just to get KFC for his wife

This man was so determined to get his wife a KFC meal, he drove 870 miles away just to fulfill her wish.

Mike and Angela Johnson, from Yellow Knife in Canada, love KFC so much, they even had it at their wedding reception fifteen years ago.

Every year since then, the couple eat their favourite chicken to celebrate their anniversary.

But this year, they ran into difficulty because their nearest KFC had closed down.

But that was not going to stop Mike from keeping their tradition alive for the 15th year of their marriage.

Instead, Mike and one of his sons looked up the nearest KFC and decided to drive there.

It was only 435 miles away..

Once they finally arrived, the devoted hubby ordered 15 buckets of chicken.

He told CBC: ‘When I ordered 15 buckets, they said: “Uh, it might take a little while”. I said: “No problem” so they cooked it up right away.’

Despite the 870 mile drive there and back and $600 (£410) in petrol and food, Mike says it was ‘worth every penny’.

He added that they have to ‘keep the traditions alive’ so ‘why stop now?’

Would you do this for your beloved ?

I remember Chin Tu Fat was carving for Paani poori with chilled Karak and I had to drive 120 KM/ hrs in my TukTuk and there was a dense black smoke from the silencer and the crowd was staring at me in disguise....:(

That depends Muad. What if you log out and then log in as one of your other IDs and then like your original comment?

Anyway, joys to this couple for keeping their romantic traditions alive.

Confused now. Isn't giving yourself a like considered self praise ?

It's not necessary to show others that u eat this n that, u get nothing from the self paraise.

If they wanted to get in the news with this silly & wasteful event then they are a real success ............... wish them more joys ............

But one person's folly can't be classified as a tradition, considering negative effect on the plants / greenery / fuel wastage / working hrs wasted .... ..... he will spoil other couples to do weird things .......

Since there is only you and me, Brit, it must be quicky who quickly does what MM would do.

I love people who post a comment , give themselves a "like" straight away and then "report" others....

This is what makes QL so enthralling

I remember driving to Rizks' Emporium to get papadoms and Idli for my Cuban Shotputter. We washed it down with hot sweet karak and then went for a walk on the moonlit beach ....

Good times :O)

I would, and I did, too. Not KFC, though. This is what romantic is all about. Poor people who don't have this anymore in their lives!

It's their choice, no other normal couple will do it.
