L'wzaar Service
The service in L'wzaar is the worst ever. They take your name down on waiting list, and act as if they are following the system, however, when people come in after you, they would give the table to them. I demanded to see the list and saw that they had seated the locals before me. I requested to speak with the manager, the indian manager was good and was helpful, however, the egyptian manager who was present too, was abrupt and making false allegations in addition to shouting, no respect towards its customers. The charge so much money for nothing. This egyptian manager does not know how to deal with customers and needs to go, otherwise, the restaurant will lose its customers. Never experienced such bad service like this in my life. People be aware that they do this.
So I've gone back again to L'wzaar....this time with a company of 5 and on a weekend with "no reservation"..We wanted to try our luck....The hosts spoke with a very soft voice and expressed that without a reservation we might be in for a long wait but being that we were already there they will try their best to accommodate us...EXTREMELY POLITE and very professional.
Waited probably 10-15 mins tops and we were taken in...Had some great food as usual.
After 5 or 6 visit so far I'm more inclined to believe that u have somehow instigated this situation.
There has been no misunderstanding. Like I have clearly stated that he was rude and arrogant. And clearly I acknowledged his staff allowing to push queues. And he was supporting them too. Maybe you guys have not experienced this or noticed that it has happened to you. You have to be vigilant to noticed these things.
I have to say, after six months in Qatar, that this is by far our favourite place to eat. We were suffering a little homesickness a while ago and went to L'wzaar for British Fish n Chips. The food was great, but the whole experience was simply outstanding.
On our first visit, the restaurant was fully booked but the staff pulled out all the stops to get a table for my family of six within half an hour. That can't have been easy!
i visit this Restaurant at least once a week for the last 6 month and i been in almost all the 5 stars restaurant in Doha and a lot of Fine dining restaurant in Dubai&Spain really the service attitude and the welcoming so AMAZING!!! all of them so helpful,knowledgeable and charming.... and for the Egyptian restaurant manager he is so nice person and professional in talking, welcoming and helping for all the customers so i believe there is misunderstanding from your side for the situation
No the egyptian manager is just rude, not the staff, and people probably don't acknowledge the fact that they prioritise tables for people, unless you are tentative.
I love it there, I thought they were very attentive and meals were prepared right on time. We didn't wait for a long while. Surprised you see it that way.... Maybe it was just a bad day
I am not too fussed that the table was given to the locals. It was more about how the manager approached the situation, rather than being apologetic, he started arguing and shouting as if I was in the wrong. Besides there is no point to fill out the survey card because he is the one that probably reviews the cards. Also, when i requested for the manager's number they refuse to give it and said he is the one that can give the number only. Which is lame, hence, his his poor attitude.
That why I said most, I know a few arseholes as well!
@QDCL
Don't be that extreme either...we not a city of angels...we have our bad apples just like everybody else's....not more....not less
No I was not pointing the finger at the locals at all, it is as you correctly say the expat fault. The Egyptian probably trying to get favour with the local and ignoring the asians as usual.
Most locals I know are polite and would not dream of pushing to the front of the queue.
@QDCL
Mr. Prejudice...read the story again plz before u pass ur judgment on all locals "as usual"
A NON_LOCAL host/hostess takes ur names at the door then he/she decides to seat ppl before u...then the expat complains to the management...he's confronted by a not-so-helpful Indian and a rude Egyptian....then at the end it's locals fault!!??? Hehehehehehe
My role as a local is to come in, put my name on the list and wait til someone calls my name....the rest is NOT my fault!!! As much as u want to be our fault, this is about L'wzaar's bad service not about us!!!
to not have had any service related the wait times can be long esp during the busier hours.The wait staff is pretty polite and courteous but I believe the Op when he says the Egyptian manager acted like a dou**ebag !With their tendency to get loud and freak-out, not suited for working in the service industry.
I hope you told it like it is in the "survey" card they hand out after the meals !
Locals. Egyptian Manager. You have your answer.
