Just like London, Egypt, Syria, Yemen, Libya, Bahrain were very peaceful places and then it happened and all hell broke loose. You can shut the people up and silence them for a period of time but not forever and this is what happens when the anger and resentment boils over.
There is no one single "one size fits all" solution to the unrest that was experienced in the UK last week - it is an unhealthy cocktail of social, racial, economic dissatifaction - in fairness this has been brewing for quite some time. The Uk has changed out of all recognition. Some of my Qatari senior colleagues in QP harbor happy memories of the UK they knew in the 70/80s when they were there as students - I barely recognise the country that they describe.
Im watching interviews on the tv with hooded, scarfed teenagers who cannot offer a logical explanation for their riotous, looting behavior this week - its like they are wearing some bizarre badge of honour!! - is it the parents, is it the schools, is it the police - I swear, its a deep rooted problem and it hasnt gone away - for the time being, it is merely dormant and it will, without doubt rear its ugly head again in the not to distant future.
I despair for the future of my own kids in the UK - the sooner I can get them out here, the better!!
this uncalled for and unexplainable acts of violence happens in countries who havenothing to loose. and have sunk down so low there's no other way but up.but uk have one of the oldest culture known to men.what caused the mayhem?
Yeah, n point in denying it, UK has elements of a sick society. The worse thing I think I have seen was a Malaysian student who was beaten and as he was just coming around, a couple of vermin were rummaging in his backpack and helping themselves to his personal belongings - it wasnt the worse thing that happened but it just struck a chord.
It should be noted however that what went on in the UK last week was no better or no worse than what goes on in many parts of the world on an ongoing basis - its only a few weeks since we saw similar scenes in Greece for example - its happened in France and Spain and of course in the Middle East and North Africa - it goes on!! Just seems all the more desperate when it happens in the Uk which has always been considered a relatively stable place - well heads up folks.................IT AINT
