Dont u hate it, esp in the shoppin centres when the locals always try to beat the quenue. i mean its not as if we r invisible right. They brush against u, n dont even say sorry. where r their manners?

if someone trying to overtake your queue, maybe try saying "excuse me"?If she/he ignores it, well, he/she just shown to people around him/her how 'well-mannered' he/she is. And I bet you, she/he can never look straight to one's eye but only to the counter teller.Uh-oh!..what a burden for this guy!
A friend of mine suggested putting one foot firmly on the end of the abaya of the lady violators... so when she tries to snag your place in line ... well I dont need to explain.
Having my kids with me deters men from even coming near me, my little ones cheesy stained hands are enough to keep anyone away.

When I'm having a good day I smile and gesture for the person to please go ahead of me - "tfaddle!" When I'm having a bad day I snarl "shu haadha?" and attempt a hip-check (an ice hockey term for planting one foot and letting fly with the point of my hip) But you know what, staying ahead in line never turns my bad day into a good one.

Oryx and Amnesia..................................
Oryx, you are such a cheapskate. I don't do polyester. Yurk.
Amnesia...kudos to you for making such an informative site and mabruk for it's success.

They were also happy to see things about Qatar in English and telling people about Qatar...
the info is accessible with lots of piccies...
And Diamond...next time you are in Rameez or Rawnaq i will scatter polyster petals from the displays all over you.
LOL ha ha
Ya Sheikha, people like you should never have to queue. It upsets me to think that you have to stand in line.
-------------------------------------
wheres the red carpet ?
I usually queue and people would push their way in front of me. I just stand there watching them, being too embarrasses to fight for a spot in a line. Who cares if I stay longer in line?
Oh what a day ..
@oryx, thank you so much! I really appreciate it. I'm glad to know that my effort is getting positive feedback :)
@diamond, I know right?? Where are our petals!

There are good people, there are bad people, and there are just people.
.
What type of person are you?
It's very disappointing that some people think we locals have to queue at all. When we show up, everyone should just step aside and bow or curtsey. And a handful of scattered rose petals for us to walk on would be nice ;)
-------------------------------------
well it happened to me a couple of times in the year ive been, so a couple of times certainly doesnt mean all locals are the same and its happened to me other times by "non locals too, so best we dont generalise. Infact a few times a few "locals" have given me their turn when they see me struggling to keep my two toddlers in a line, which was a very nice gesture.
meant to tell you something.... i showed your website to my new class... i was showing them about different types of forum
good positive feedback from the ladies!
it happens even in the airports, they always want to be first. yes i do agree all the qataris r nice, but mostly the ladies in the malls at the cashier ll try squeeze in. n even if they hit u in tht process, they dont care.
I have been known to make people queue ;)
its a british thing can't help it!
really annoys me...
acutually reminds me of story.
I was queueing and a gentleman pushes in front (not a Q)
I coughed loudly
and this Qatari boy in perfect english said... she wants to know why she is invisible and not being served.
It was so funny! i love it when people diffuse a situation to laughter...
ehhh NO!
actually I dont find them the big offenders of that behaviour trait!
Alexa, don't you know us locals are all like that? In fact? It's only a Qatari thing. You'll never find anyone else do that from anywhere else :)

haven't encountered any locals like that yet.. most that i've met are very polite...
maybe you're mistaken them as locals because they are wearing thobe/abaya..
