Dubai: When Ana Negra Barrabeig, 28, bid goodbye to her new husband at the airport in Brazil, little did she know the tragedy that awaited her.

After her marriage on May 6, Ana, a Spanish national based in Dubai, had been honeymooning in Brazil.

Her husband Javier Álvarez had to report back for work in Dubai and she decided to fly back to Barcelona from Rio de Janeiro via Paris to join family and friends.

Javier arrived in the UAE on Monday morning and discovered to his horror the same day that Ana was aboard the ill-fated Air France flight 447 that had gone missing. The last contact with the aircraft was reported in the early hours of Monday.

its so sad. the emotions of those left behind must be undefinable. i got goosebumps while watching the interview of a wife who recounted their last conversation with her hubby. they have plans and now her future is over.

frankly i have always second thoughts on flying but i have to...

I think everyone was a bit connected to the flight.... especially with the amount of different nationalities on board. Its really a shame and heart and prayers go out to everyone.

I do hope that they discontinue with the whole 'fear of flying' stuff though on the media.... Gets people too hyped up for something like this tragedy.

Prayers to all families!

The American couple, on that same flight, was featured on the local news back home. They were from the Houston, Texas area.
