Libraries in Qatar

Are there any public libraries in this country? Do the locals read at all or do they just like shopping and driving around in their bloody Landcruisers?

singleguy, no, I read in many different subjects, none about driving. I don't need a book for that.

Respect comes with respect. If the locals respect other people other people will respect them. It's a two way thing.

White Landcruiser-driving Qatari here, I have my own books at home (around 400, mostly in English)... I wouldn't like going to a public library.

Qatar National Library is presumably still going. A decade ago it had a rather chaotic English section in addition to the main Arabic resource. It is at Umm Ghwalina, on the second roundabout up from Ras Abu Aboud flyover, if I remember correctly. I think you need a letter from your sponsor to get a ticket - assuming you want to read instead of just making superfluous and racist comments about Qataris.
