Doha – Qatar,

Dear Sir,

I was using TOYOTA CAMRY 2005 model when I was in Dubai and I was happy with the car & more over the customer service in Dubai, with the same experience here in Qatar I visited your main branch and met Mr. Ameer who helped me out to get a good idea about CAMRY-2008 model, after that I arrange all the relevant papers with the help Mr. XX and I submitted to him.

The story begins from here,

• I got call from your Sales man Mr. XX to collect my car from your Sanaya showroom on 12th April 2008, as per the call when I presented all the documents to receive my car on 13th april, they said the car is still in wakra, and it will be ready by 14th at 9.00am , it proves the fact that your service guys doesn’t have proper communication , I came back and reported on 14th at 8.00 a.m., but the car is still not ready for collection and they asked me to wait up to 12pm. Around 1 pm I got call to inspect the service which has been done to my satisfaction. I found the fuel in the car almost empty indicating the travel range “0Km” . When I asked to the boys to fill some fuel they simply refused and advised that there is a petrol pump very near the roundabout and I can refuel there, as I can’t drive up to roundabout with empty tank as I am no magician to do this I offered 20Qr to lend some petrol and with in minutes they came with fuel and filled my car.

• later I had two small accidents in right side door and bumper left on front side. I collected all the needed papers from Insurance company and visited your service center in Sanaya and reported to accident section at 11.15 am, I got the quotation for the repairs to be carried out and the person attended advised me to meet any supervisor to open a job card time around 11.40 but all them refused to help me as they were leaving for lunch break at 12.pm still they have 20 minutes but !!!!!! they asked me come back at 4.pm , I don’t have any other choice as I have to abide them because its TOYOTA AAB rules. As per their information I went there and reported to them and the person who prepared the papers asked me to sign that I received my car with the marked damages were cleared and returned after the service ………….. ??????? Think this will happen only with AAB and no where else. I got the appointment after two weeks.
• I gave my car on the appointed dated for repair and was asked to collect the car after 10 days , on the day of collection I finished all the formalities and got gate pass and key, just thought of checking the work done to my surprise I found that they have not seen one job card from two of them. When I raised my concern the staff over there were not really serious and concerned and asked to leave the car there for 5 more days, since I needed the vehicle badly I took my car with that job card and handed over the car to them two weeks later for the unfinished job. Then began my ordeal again, and 1 week later I went to collect my car, to my dismay I found a shabbily done work…………. I was very much annoyed but controlled myself and when I informed the supervisors, they asked me to keep the car there for another two days, Since I had enough with the Toyota service centre I just took possession of my car ………..I thought its my fate, but later came to know it’s the fate of all TOYOTA car owners fate in Qatar.

• Above all these, There is a manufacturer problem below both front seats and agreed by your Toyota service centre near mall roundabout , during 5000Km’s service they advised me to go sanaya showroom to inform. When I informed them they are not prepared to agree and said it is customer responsibility to check the car before receiving. Can anyone please see the attached pictures and tell me whether one will check this area before they buy a costly branded car???? All these incidents have hurt me badly.

Now I don’t know what do with this car, and it is very dreadful to think to deal with Toyota Service Centre. Wish to get rid of this nightmare and put an end to my ordeals by selling my car which I bought with lots of dreams.

Waiting for favorable reply & response

Toyota has got the worst service in Qatar. Infact the toyota cars are good and luxurious but the service offered by them is the worst compared to other brands I think. Nissan is offering very good service than toyota.

I had experienced some wat same problem as firose.

Hi!

Even I bought a Camy just two weeks back and I had the same problem, The sales man said to collect the car from Ind Area next day and I went waiting there when he said it has to reach from Wakra and is in the traffic and they will close at 12, so he asked me to come at 4 and when I reached at 4 he said the car is still in wakra, I was so mad, the customer service is so bad there they dont treat you well and they dont care or think of the trouble you take and the time you take to go all the way there to get this new car when most of the other showrooms just deliver the new cars at their showroom. I own a Nissan and the service is GOOD.

The next day after a lot of phone calling and checking the vechile is ready I went to collect it in the evening when I see a small mark near the bumper and it looks like repainted, They said they will give a letter and will get it fixed before 1000 kilometer as its free service, I refused to register and then came the next day, Again after a lot of phone calling they said it was the last piece and getting another one had to wait even longer may be 2 -3 weeks.

Thinking of what i went thru the past 3 days I just took the car when there was no fuel, and of all the things when petrol is cheap here why dont they just pour enough to just go till the next petrol station all this shows what AAB is in a way... please put on a smile to the customers face when he gets his new car and not annoy him with all this stuff.

Had enough already with just taking the vechile after registering ... Now thinking of what will happen when I give it for servicing is a ???????????...I pray the Lord give me the patience to face this situation.

I Hope atleast AAB have a heart and be considerate with what their customers are facing thru these days in Qatar busy roads , traffic blocks, reckless driving and getting to drive home or work take longer hours and in between all this coming to industrial area is actually a torture to many and if only they had good customer care service and someone calling from service center to say that your car is ready please come and pick it would be much appreciated.

Selling Cars is easy But Keeping your Customers happy with your servicing is when your Job's well done and complete. The trouble WE customers have to go through...just because we made a choice of buying a Toyota..

Morale of the Story - Never buy a Toyota in Qatar :(

Ban Spoon Feeding not Me

By IMI• 19 Nov 2008 12:52
IMI

Hello Guys,

I too bought the 2008 Land Cruiser from ABB this past march and the series of events to get the car was a real nightmare. I booked myself for a GXR and was promised a delivery on Feb 18th, upon my arrival to PDI at Ind Area, the car comes to me completely dusty. I was asked to check the car and luckily i had a friend who had smart eyes.. and he spotted a badly damaged door dent on the right side. The moron at the PDI insisted i sign the papers soon without giving any indication of the damage. Later the helper at PDI warned me that he had informed teh supervisor about the damage. How can they call me all the way to the PDI to take delivery of the car. I lost my marbles and rejcted taking the car. Now the misery begins due to serious shortage of the car and high booking i was told to wait for another 15 days as a new ship was coming with cars. I had a fight with the Sales Man and i did not give up untill i did not see another chassis no given to me. My misery went on as i had to go the bank to change the papers then to the insurance comp and all. Like Firos explained about the vehicle being in Wakra, yes i was told this same thing and this went on for 2 days. Fuel story is the same. Finally i was given another car, and that too came with the right bumper scratched. This time i went mad. You pay like 190,000 QRS for a car the service is not worth 1 Riyal there. I paid the wash boys to wash the car, I paid tips for having the car fueled. I fought with the PDI manager and then he gave me a letter of repair for the scratch i still have not done the repair coz i know it will come back with more damages.

I paid for 4 parking sensors, i got only 2. There is serious communication problem with Showroom, Service & PDI staff. They all need to be fired as "Customer Service" is the last thing on their priority list.

Toyota a great car with S**T service. And the LC owners are no more the same..

Strange But True..

I used to have a corolla it had accidents, I went to get it repaired at Industrial Area they asked me to leave the car at the lot leaving keys in side, when i asked them when will i get my car they simply replied that check after a month that when r u getting your car. I was stunned then I used the source and got it after 15 days but upon getting the car back and paying for service charges I got my car back loaded with dust. Then on first hand i got rid of that car and bought Mazda3.

There is exactly no need to write those letters to those idiots coz they will be treating ur letter just as your car.

so my friend sell the damn car and go for some thing else even kia is thousand time better in service.

Default Nick - all fault attributes to the others' account and I was scot free. The cost was absorbed by the Insurence Co.

Bulp was a small problem but identifinf the pulp was the cause of the ABS system failure is a big problem.

I am lucky I am street smart not to remove the entire 4 wheel mechanism to replace a battery in your case and the entire break system in my case.

You were driving 8 years amd I was drivine for the past 28 years :)

But it was not only a damaged bulp problem. BTW if you were the driver that made 5 accidents it means you are not that street smart because most accidents are avoidable. I am driving more than 8 years and I have never had an accident.

Default Nick - I have the access to our company's motor technicians to get initial assesment at any given time. Also I have access to a very good mechanic at any given time.

My ABS indicator was blimping one day and I asked them why. They checked and asked me to replace rear brake indicator bulb which was burnt.

I didn't rush to the Agent once I saw the ABS indicator was blimping.

I am a street smart guy.

No after sales service.

In dubai toyota has a very good service. They will even clean your car inside out after every service.

Here, I left my car for some minor repair on the bumper but when i got it it has a dent on the door with deep paint damage. They did not even say sorry. They asked me t get police report again and bring it to insurance and return to them. That is what we get from owning a toyota!

By Default Nick• 19 Nov 2008 10:42
Default Nick

I have never had an accident till now (Thanks to god). For the battery of course I did not leave the car because of battery but one indicator lamb was blinking so I went to service to be sure but it took more than 12 days just to tell me what is wrong. The cost that they told me was too much so I said OK I do not want you to repair my car or change any parts just give me my car. But when I went there to take my car and bring it to any private garage; guess what happened: the car was not moving properly as I left it :). Gear and 4x4 was not functioning. So I had to leave the car because they made it worse than the condition I left. And I said them OK just change the parts I want to get my car ASAP. And after they have changed some parts I called them in the day, that they have promised for the car. They said "Oh sorry sir your car is not cranking now because battery is dead." Of course I did not pay 1600 QAR but it is all about moral and ethics how they are treating you. Its good to hear that there are some companies working and giving service better than the others.

Personally, I have experienced very professional service at Honda/Volvo w/s

Also Ford and Mazda/Hyundai w/s are ranked very good

Default Nick - I never suffer that fate after under going 5 Accident Repairs. You handover the car to counter and collect it the day they asked you to come.

Simple.

BTW - I am not a Fool to hand over the car to the Agent just to change the battery. I change the battery in battery shop within 10 minutes with 1 year warranty.

Battery Cost QR 350 FYI.

I am street Smart :)

If you haven't brought your car for maintenance and they have to work on it and change parts and so on you wont understand if they are good or bad. For my regular services at Dodge; they were also cool with prices around 400-500. But when it comes to maintenance and changing parts conditions are changing. If someone will try to charge you 1600 QAR just for a battery of the car after keeping it at the service almost 4 weeks, you will be annoyed too my friend ;). Hope you wont have to suffer for you car as some of us did.

Edit: BTW I heard that Nissan has good service as well, like some of QLers mentioned Mitsubishi is good.

A company full with *********** to maintain your car and the heads ******** from ******** or ********, maybe mixed, but whatsoever. "THEY DONT CARE, BAD SERVICES AND STILL SELLING HIGH"

I like Toyota, but never this Doha branch ever.

The only good thing is to get a Toyota 2nd hand and out of company insurance, as thy say, u can fix it in a SUPERMARKET ahahahhaha yea yea, so no headache my friend

i think to give all cars to AL-FARDAN Agency.

Almost all services are same here ...

Wrong.

Mazda hand over their Cars in Mazda Showroom near Jarir Book Store. Regular Service done there. No need to go to Industrial Area. Prompt Service. You hand over the car in the morning and it will be ready by 06.00pm.

Mitsubishi - Handover your car before 12.00 and collect by 06.00pm

That is what I called service:)
