Laws for a carrying a pocket knife

I am trying to find out if there are any laws in this country against carrying a small pocket/utility knife. Something similar to a gerber or kershaw knife. I use one on a daily basis and always carry one clipped to the inside of my pocket, but I do not want to get stopped by a cop or something and end up deported. Does anyone have any idea what the law is regarding this?
