both eyes, you're done in half an hour. 15 mins per eye. u feel nothing, everything's done by the machine. but you do go blind for 4 secs when your cornea is liced and a flap opened.

i could desribe it really well but i'm sure it'll put off people off their lunch or dinner, so i'll refrain.

but yeah, half an hour and you're vision improves instantly. and it keeps improving staedily by the hour. in 3 months, u stop using the eyedrops as well and that's that.

Yes you definitely can have them done one at the time one after the other on the same day, that’s what they did to me! They don’t do both eyes simultaneously but one at the time, it’s very quick though I doubt it lasted more than half hour overall.

Sometimes, if you want they do just one eye and than after a few days or whenever you go back and do the other. I don’t know if there is a difference in costs.

Anyway, keep in mind that I’ve done it in Europe and I have no experience of what they do here and if it’s the same.

So you can't have them done one at a time on the same day, with no extra charge? I don't think I can trust a doctor with both of my eyes

I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired

They did mine both together but if I had wanted to they would have done just one and the other some other time.

Do they do both the eyes together, or one at a time?

cheers guys.

it's something that i've been wanting to do for a while. found a doctor that other people in the games had used and 10 months or so down the line, they're doing fine. so, i'm comfortable.

so, 1st week of june, no more glasses for the first time in 25 years!

wooohoo!

...of the doctor's training, experience and equipment. If he's any good, he'll let you contact former patients so you can ask them about the results.

He should also be very clear on the possible side effects. There are some potentially serious ones so don't only rely in him.

There is lots of information on the web. You should go in as informed as possible. Good luck.

I just spoke to Dr. Ramsey at Al Emadi Hospital here in Doha. He has the Lasik technology and the cost for both eyes is 8,000 riyals. Intial consulation is 700 riyals. Makes sense to do it locally because of all the required post-op visits.

Got mine done in Bombay India for Rs45,000 (Around USD 1000) for both eyes. I got a custom lasik done else it is around Rs35,000. Will surely not trust the doctors in the gulf with my eyes.

If the above cost in the post is true, u can get ur eyes done as well as have a holiday in india for the same cost.

Conclusion : The best thing that has happened to my eyes. No hassles of lenses/spectacles. I should have done it earlier. If you need more information, you can contact me

Regards

I had my eyes laser-ed last Dec, although not in Doha but back in Europe. I'm not sure it was Lasik or what procedure anyway it's one of the best thing I've ever done! One piece of advice though: find a doctor you trust!

i remeber seeing an ad for one place here in the paper.(but i can't remember the name of it). i asked how much does it cost, and they told me 9000 for both eyes. that is about as much as it cost in the states (around $3,500).

i know one woman who got her's done in jordan.you can maybe try getting it done in a neighboring country like bahrain, saudi, kuwait etc
