Kahramaa billing problem
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE! Need advice! This month (october bill) i checked thru kahramaa website our bill, i was surprised to find out i need to pay 9,000+ QR. usually, we pay 1,000 to 1,500 every month. When i checked the details, more than 8,000 of the bill is for the water, this is too much........... IS THERE A WAY TO APPEAL THIS WITH KAHRAMAA, PLEASE ADVICE! IS THERE A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE, PLEASE SHARE! .......... THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Dear I had the same, it hppenned in the month August during the time when I was out of qatar for one month.
I was advised by my friend to report the same in Kahramaa office and I followed. as per advice by the officer, I put the complaint for a faulty meter. Now it has been replaced with a new one. I visited after the replacement of new meter and they told me that my big amount bill will be adjusted and will be informed accordingly.
So please visit the Kahramaa office nearby and submit your request for faulty meter.
Check your bill payments, bring them along with you and proceed to Kahramaa for checking. I'm sure it's just system mistake.
Very likely, the reading is accurate. What might have happened is that they don't check the meter regularly. They bill you an estimated minimum every month prior to the reading, and when they do the reading, they bill you for past unpaid amounts. Sloppy work on their part. Seemingly excessive use of resources on your part. Grin and bear it, my man.
i dont remember the exact date, but it was this month, i saw one man carrying a device checking our meter and he seems typing on the device after looking at the meter,,,,, i just hope they will be generous enough to consider reducing this amount because it is very hard to pay this amount. thank you again for the comments!
an officemate of mine had the same huge bill all of sudden as well. when he checked with kahramaa he found out that he wasn't being billed for water the time he transferred it to his name. so his water bill accumulated unknowingly. best thing to do is go to the kahramaa office and sort it out.
I had a similar problem with Kahramaa. My monthly bills were quite regular, and then all of a sudden I got a large one. Apparently Kahramaa doesn't check the meters regularly, so often times your billls are estimates--which means someone in the office decides what amount to bill you. As someone mentioned in a previous comment, it's possible to request a meter reading. It's extremely inconvenient...you need to stop by their office, and then meet the man at your apartment...who is usually late, and typically can't find where you live. That task took up half of my day, but it was the best way to sort out my bill.
I also have a colleague who received a similarly large bill, and after requesting a meter reading they realized the previous reading was written down incorrectly. Kahramaa told him there was no way to correct the error, as once the consumption reading is entered into their system it can't be changed. So they told him he won't be billed until he uses up QR 4000 of water...
i checked the reading, it is the same, we dont have leak anywhere, and i cannot believe we were able to consume that amount of water in 1 month,,,,, i hope someone in their office will be able to help me with this, because this is very big amount for us to pay, good luck for me when i go to their office,,,,,, THANK YOU AGAIN!
Please check the reading of meter and confirm with the bill. if not same may you can take the pic of meter and go to office for correction.
or visit their office with the bill. It should be rather obvious that there is a water leak somewhere. They will try to tell you it's your fault for not reporting it, but hold your ground.
