Synagogue attack: Netanyahu vow in 'battle for Jerusalem

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to win a "battle for Jerusalem" after a deadly attack on a synagogue.

Two Palestinians killed four rabbis in West Jerusalem before being shot dead. A policeman later died of his wounds.

Mr Netanyahu vowed to "settle the score with every terrorist" saying that those "who want to uproot us from our state and CAPITAL... will not succeed".

Jerusalem has seen weeks of unrest, partly fuelled by tension over a disputed holy site.

Tuesday's attack was the deadliest in Jerusalem for six years. There were about 25 worshippers in the synagogue at the time and at least seven people were also seriously wounded.

Mr Netanyahu ordered the homes of the attackers to be destroyed, saying: "We are in a battle over Jerusalem, our eternal capital."

He said that this was a "terrible attack at a time of prayer" and condemned what he termed the "shouts of joy" from the Palestinian-controlled Gaza Strip after the attacks.

He said he was strengthening security on the streets of Jerusalem, without giving details.

Mr Netanyahu called on the people of Israel to "stand together as one" but said that "no-one must take the law into their own hands, even if spirits are riled and blood is boiling".

line

So, let's put a spot light on this
Why does the media make a big fuzz about four Israeli been killed and doesn't give a damn about many people palestinian killed lately in Jerusalem
and when the media condemns what happened to those four Israeli, because they were worshipping God, and they were innocents, what about all the people been killed while praying, the mosques been destroyed
and when the Palestinian government tries to make peace agreements, then Israeli government starts to build more Colonies
and with me saying all the above, why Israel has the right to do what ever it wants with no one to stop it, why they have the right to tease the palestinians, and why the palestinians has no right to reply!

God Damn the Media! the corrupted ones with double standards

If USA is really not behind Israel, and we Arabs are just putting the blame on them all the time, why didn't they condemn all what happended in Gaza, and they were very aggressive about these 4 o5 five people!!

Your thoughts QLers?

dohasoccerguy,,,It will be wrong to kill them If they left what is not theirs and they call home

Why they closed the Aqsa mosque, they are asking for problems, they don't want to live in peace!

Peace is with the people who want it, and I think it is clear, they want Palestine just for themselves

I don't have anything to say about the media coverage - its obvious they will do what makes their bosses happy!

But it is wrong to kill people - both Palestinians and Israelis. So this attack must be condemned by all. And if Israel uses this to justify killing more Palestinians, then that must be condemned too! Sadly, that's all we can do - condemn.
