"It's complicated"

BluVander
By BluVander

In relation to the V-day celebration, let us open a topic about relationships. :-)

"It's complicated". A status on social networks, like Facebook and Friendster, which may mean a lot of things. E.g. married but has an affair with somebody else, or perhaps both are single and both like each other but are not admitting to be in a relationship.

I know there had been quite a few posts about pseudo-relationship here on QL, but i was just interested to know:
Is it common here in Qatar? Or is it even an existing condition?

Let me know your thoughts, and if you can expound on what u think about "it's complicated" status or "pseudo-relationship, you are welcome to comment :-)

Happy V-day (in 6 days)!

whyteknight said It's way cooler to say I am ...

It's way cooler to say I am in a complicated relationship than to say I am single :("

No, it's way cooler to tell it like it is - "In a relationship / married / single".

"It's complicated" just shows that either they are players wanting sympathy from gullible guys/gals or they simply confused and don't know what they want, neither of which is any good relationship material and to be avoided or kicked out asap - until maybe later when they get clearer/less hazy.

BluVander said pilgram ...

Loneliness and homesickness can be blamed to its existence ;-)"

Hmm...life is about justifications. Someone who doesn't honour his/her commitment lacks character though.

BV said "Brit, Pseudo-relationship is a state where in both parties have mutual understanding but they don't label themselves as a couple (gf-bf).. it's like they are in a relationship but not quite. both parties can do whatever they want, but no jealousy, no questions asked.. something like that.. that's why it's called "it's complicated".

Even in a relationship, they can be free to be themselves, accountable at their own free will. Jealousy and asking too many questions is simply an indication of insecurity. Lack of communication skills, including listening skills are what lead to those "complications".

to voice my opinion different form others? Does "unpopular" (debatable) opinion makes you a bad person. Are all individual posting here 100 % acceptable to others? View the post, not the poster (which many here, sometimes I am also but not all the time as other's make it a business to attack the person rather than the post).

Anyway, if that what makes you happy, go on, it's your life not mine! Good day!

my post? And you also explain the reason in our culture. Anyway, if that's how you explain it, it's your word, not mine.

WK, you want to highlight the other word, fine. It's you putting emphasize on it.

BTW, is valentine day really a celebration for something against "violence on women"? Valentine and violence, really?

i couldn't agree with you more

i am quite aware this is not a medical discussion or what not, i was just trying to explain to a kindergarten that vagina is not an offensive word but just a medical term specifically used for lessons in Anatomy. And besides, the V-day that i was talking about on the link i provided was for an organization who supports anti-violence against women. Don't comment if you didn't understand the thread. Or better yet, don't dive if there's no water *peace out*

:-P

People who say "It's complicated" are usually in denial...the other person isn't interested, get used to the idea!

in our culture.. any term that pertains to the sexual organs, may it be in medical or scientific or in our dialect term, is somewhat a grave offense, and our elderly would usually slap our mouth. But now i came to realize, it's nothing but just a TERM unless it's used OFFENSIVELY in a sentence.

Back to the topic:

gudone: exactly the point, just have fun and enjoy life.

but sometimes, human as we are, we get weak and tend to fall especially for females. And end up just falling in our own trap :-(

I was just copy pasting from earlier posts :(

edifis wrote D**k and BluVander wrote v*g*na but only Bluvander got the moral lecture :(

I have no problem with vagina :P

By anonymous• 10 Feb 2011 15:12

I wonder why people keep putting * in place of letters in vagina. The last time I checked vagina wasn't a dirty word...at least to anyone over the age of 13.

By anonymous• 10 Feb 2011 15:10
anonymous

I wonder why someone didn't get offended at D**k and got offended at v*g*na :-/

By anonymous• 10 Feb 2011 14:49

Since when did Vagina's become offensive, and why do you need to bleep out the word? A vagina is a part of the female anatomy, and a very important one at that.

BV, I am a lady and I am certainly not offended by it. It is all in good humour...which obviously eludes some people.

Not surprisingly though.

are we talking about medical thing here? Precisely you know the offensiveness of your comment based on the essence of this thread. And sorry to misunderstood you that you are apologizing somehow?

And WK, you never stop to amaze me! You know, you are funny!

By BluVander• 10 Feb 2011 14:03
BluVander

how can this be an offensive thing? tsk.. narrow-minded people should not be allowed here on QL.

:-(

If they were offended by a MEDICAL term "v*g*na", then so be it, but i am not going to apologize for this.

flor I didn't realise you are a lady, My bad.

By flor1212• 10 Feb 2011 13:39
flor1212

for the ladies? How sure are you?

Saying it's ok is encouraging such unwanted remarks here.

A "kabayan" lady Qler pm'ed me regarding the comment and she was more offended because BV is also a "kabayan". At least, BV already somehow corrected it, by saying no offense ("pasintabi" in our dialect).

isnt that the status of someone who is in a fight (with his/her bf/gf) and trying to get anyone's attention just to have someone asking "whats wrong"? ...its a scheme to sensationalize their relationship becuz its boring.
