Has anyone else in Qatar had a strange phone call telling them they have won 200,000QR. Just wondering if it is a scam as they asked me to call them back so it can be registered. It was a phone call from with in this country and not outside ?????
Is there anyone I can call to check????
Once I had received a same call. The guy on the other end was claiming that he is in his office at the city center and asked me to follow his instructions...
I told him "hold on I'm at the city Center right now give me your location we'll better talk face to face"...
by the way, just a precaution...a phone number should be a landline phone and not a cell number...it will smell fish if the call will come from a cellphone number...
if you have their number, call them back and verify, you have nothing to lose and it's not against the law to verify a call...did you fill up any raffle ticket from the last six months to any shops or supermarkets? who knows maybe you got lucky!!...but if they ask you to send money thru western union to claim your prize or solicit a thing using the cover that you won this and that..then forget about it...
a friend of mine won a car from qatar shopping complex raffle draw but what he got at first is just a call and info that he won..he was asked to call for verification.
take the shot..you have nothing to lose!!! and congrats if it is legit!!!

and he just dropped the call:)
the number has now been reported to qtel......that number will be blocked and will no longer be able to send or receive calls
Normally people at the beginning are given the free huge benefits just to popularise & build the trust in society in these type of cases.
So , Let 'sandy' take a few more cautious steps to fish out some of the amount from 'scamsters' if they are the new one in this field, I suppose.
Won't it be a positive thinking on 'sandy's part ?
If you have ever passed through Dubai...!!!
Many of us have received this type of calls from Qatar, UAE and UK...
