IS IT RIGHT TO MOURN STEVE JOBS??

Modern man exhibits an amazing lack of
: realism for all that matters. For the
: meaning of life and death, for happiness and
: suffering, for feeling and serious thought.
: He has covered up the whole reality of human
: existence and replaced it with his
: artificial, prettified picture of
: pseudo-reality, not too different from the
: savages who lost their land and freedom for
: glittering glass beads.' (Erich Fromm - The
: Sane Society)

Today only on fox news I saw that Steve Jobs had been to India to visit a very well known saint Shri Kenchi Baba(Neem karori Baba of Nainital) there it was precicted than now onwards he will lead his field by his deeds....I m surprised and happy for his good works.I will mourn only two more corporates in the coming days Warren Buffet and Bill Gates....No one else....

Do you want his Ghost to rise from the grave and haunt the apple firm?

His time is up...Now let him RIP!

Whole world is mourning the death of a legend and some bunches of people are discussing whether to mourn or not. Really  pity. A man who had nothing to eat, no where to sleep , sale empty coke bottle to have his meals, walks many miles bare foot to get his meal,  has risen to such a great height with his knowledge, hard work and intelligence. We should appreciate his struggle. He could have been like many of us but he overcomes all difficulties. Such legends are rarely born and their death are immense loss to society. Steve Jobs – R.I.P. – Return If Possible.

redtreble... Some say Gates stole his idea of a user friendly os like the one you are using with the icons & mouse from Jobs let's just say they both developed a system which people can use the computer much more easier compared to the dos based computer in which we have to type a command to operate it. If you think it's not good for the humanity, well you're actually using one...

Sounds like redtreble/slapper has a inferiority problem with Steve Jobs.  Was is your OS that he stole?  LOL.

to mourn is a natural reaction to sadness....that comes from within. So It can neither be wrong or right!

For some people the iphone or ipod is as dear to their heart as their lovers...so for them their father in law has died.

But I wonder whether a father in law deserves original tears or is it just "crocodile tears" they are shedding?

Well may be I'm not yet alive by that time... but if I'm alive when Benjamin had died I might mourn too... The guy above me is correct the internet was not developed by a single person maybe if they all die at the same time I'll mourn for them too... Just kidding mass death is not funny...

And what about the people who developed the processors, the keyboards, the RAM, the screen....?  What about the people who worked out how to channel electricity into people's homes?  What about the man who invented the internet?  Can you even name him without Googling it?I suppose all that was Steve Jobs as well.

Slapper... There's nothing wrong feeling sad about losing one of the great minds in this era. He made a mark on the career that he chosen if you don't admire that maybe you're looking for something else & not about technological advancement of our society.

Cupid, I couldn't care less about who invented the best OS and who might have developed it first.  There are so many parts of a computer that have been developed and refined by different companies down the years.  Are we going to mourn the CEOs of those companies when they pass? Steve Jobs was a brilliant marketer, of Apple but mostly of himself.  His greatest achievement in my opinion was getting an Apple Cash Till into so money homes.  That was sheer brilliance on his part, I'll concede that.  That's the main reason I don't have any Apple Products (apart from an iPod that I won and refuse to sync with iTunes).

it's not about being right/not right.. it's about the way you feel....people are paying respect and express their admiration to the brilliant energetic person, who was following his dream, who was passionate about what he was doing, who has taken a step beyond the ability of our imagination and who enriched our daily life..it is not discussible whether to mourn or not..  it is your private matter, and it is up to you to appreciate it or not give a damn..

Steve Jobs did something for humanity?!!  Ha, ha, what a tool you are.Honestly, the Apple Marketing Men must be laughing themselves all the way to the bank when people spout garbage like that.He didn't even invent anything, he simply repackaged it.

Slapper you seem to be jealous that people are mourning for Steve Jobs...He may have done something good for everyone to have them mourn for him.

"Mourn" means to feel sad.

I feel sad that Steve Jobs has passed away.

He is not very close to me so I do not mourn....but I admired him because he dared to chase his dream and be different!

Yes, I agree with you Cupid.  You do not need to own an iphone to appreciate what Steve Jobs has done for humanity.

2012 Olympics... It's not about owning an apple gadget, it's about how Mr Jobs dedicated his life changing the modern technology through his talent... I can afford it but I don't have one but I do appreciate what he's done in terms of high end technology on our palm...

redtreble--My happiness from the iphone comes from what I can do with it not from the ownership.  I suppose you say the same of peopel who have the 'ownership of some consumable goods" like AC.  LOL.Are you bitter because you cannot afford the iphone either?  Jealousy is not a good thing my friend.  Just think.  If you had the iphone with slapper you could video chat with each other and complain together about how such technologies as AC are ruining the world.  LOL.

Slapper... Slave labor is part of the system until someone make it his goal to provide a better system it won't change just by talking... Mr Jobs show us how to follow each one's dream. We'll maybe you can provide a better system if its your dream...

Dear oh dear 2012 Olympics, what a sad little man you are.  Fancy defining your happiness through ownership of some consumer goods! And as for calling somebody angry because they can't afford an Apple Gadget (not that you even know this to be the case), that is truly pathetic.

Steve Jobs has brought happiness to many people.  I enjoy his iphone and ipad very much and I am sad he will create such masterpieces no longer.Maybe if slapper could afford an iphone he would not be so angry.

TANDUR - who else would you mourn in the corporate world??

By Tandurifish• 7 Oct 2011 11:32

He was a person who's success was in his earlier failure.By mourning to him we are giving a chance/view to our coming generations that how can we appreciate a person who learned so well from his failures that he proved him ahead of his counterparts. He gave us amazing gadgets too...

Mr Jobs defined the whole reality of human existence. He followed his dreams & reached his goals in life. It may not be for others to admire but for people with dreams may it be for one's self or for the whole humanity at least he did influence all with in his own reality.
