Anti Israel bans and anti support for wars for a change.. ban the bomb... ban Israel.... bad people out here showing their true colors. but i can take it,, from the screen or in person.. Same as when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor the world all over started a hate complain against all people from Japan, even when they had lived in a new country for 2-3 generations. agree with anything that Israel is doing. However, I don't even think the Israeli army would condone these awful T-shirts. The people who are wearing them should be kicked out of the army.

My thoughts are my own, but I doubt my Mum would agree with some of them.

I thought we had already had the T-shirt discussion a couple of weeks ago, but maybe that was another forum.

If you look at this story sensibly, its significance is the way in which entire units of the Israeli army have come to regard Arabs as subhuman vermin who should be exterminated. It's not clear whether Army training encourages that view (while regretting public expression of it) or if it simply does nothing to discourage it. The psychology of racial superiority evident in the T-shirts shows that human nature doesn't change and the same triggers that Hitler used in the 30s to dehumanise the Germans can still be used 70 years later by the Zionists.

All armies are prone to xenophobia and a willingess to tolerate extreme and gratuitous brutality. By tolerating it, commanders make atrocities almost inevitable. That is why we have had Qana, Jenin, Sabra and Chatila and now reports of war crimes from Gaza. It is also why we had My Lai, Srebrenitsa, Auschwitz and Abu Ghraib.

The IDF may publicly threaten to court-martial soldiers wearing some of these T-shirts, but its history of whitewashing atrocities lends no credibility to the threat. On the contrary, it seems likely that it secretly favours these comradely celebrations of the "Purity of Arms" and the superiority of Jews over the goyim.

QL generally, as a forum, has threads full of torrents of non-stop abuse - vitriolic sewaged hatred - towards Jews and Israelis as a group. Furthermore, Palestinians tell their children that the Jews bake their bread with the blood of Arab children ... or that they are worse than pigs and monkeys, "the vilest of creatures."

And yet, I've never read any kind of objection posted on this forum about how dehumanising this kind of abuse is.

Since this kind of abuse, towards Jews as a group, is apparently ok, it is hard to take the collective wailing and breastbeating here too seriously.

1- Not all of the Israelis are Zionists. (He expressed his dislike of Israeli T-Shirts).

2- You should salute this QLer with the “flag”, at least now you know who you’re up against.

3-Zionists are among us everywhere, including at workplace, they’re just too coward to reveal it.

As rude and offensive as the t-shirts are, I actually would support anyone's right to wear them publicly (as I would similarly support the right for anyone to wear another offensive t-shirt). But this situation is different; they're soldiers in the IDF, they're not civilian citizens, so different rules apply to them.

This is very offensive behavior; the government realizes what a PR debacle this has become, and the soldiers should have known better. I hope the individuals who created/bought/wore these t-shirts were severely disciplined.

I am a long way off for being an apologist for the IDF but can I just offer a slight correction to the OP; I read a more detailed report on this last week and these are not 'Israeli army' T-shirts. Rather these are T-shirts that some individual soldiers have had made. The official army response is that anyone wearing such a T-shirt at any time will be disciplined.
