Are you talking about gifts given to a Queen by her grateful subjects ?

UK is much much worse than here as marriage on embassies are recognized!

But I am not surprised if ever, C of E is just a break-away group of RC.

BE agreed, but I was only putting something out there to see what the comment would be.

AND the only faith that is recognised as being allowed to marry people is the Cof E, any other has to register their marriage but not if you get married in the Cof E. just a point of interest

Not wishing to go off at a tangent, but I don't believe that the two are mutually exclusive..

The title is a little misleading - It gives the wrong impression. :o(

ahhh... but Flor if you pledge your allegiance to the Queen you do so knowing that you as a good british citizen pledge to uphold everything she stands for and one of those things is defender of the faith as head of the church, otherwise what is the point of the pledge if you pick and choose what you want to pledge to?

By flor1212• 10 Dec 2011 13:42

not as head of the church. To preserve the monarchy and the state, not the church!

Yeah so many people convert to Islam but how many are actually practicing Islam as it should be?How many are upon the path of Muhammad(peace be Upon him)? How many embrace Islam only in order to change its very essence and rulings to suit their needs? How many chose the path of extremism and support those who twist the Quran according to their agendas? All this must be regarded.

That said its wonderful that UK is such a free and fair country that Muslims there have rights that others do as well. Its great that tolerance and acceptance of different cultures and religions are so widespread back there. I know many Muslims from UK who have truly love their country and all the privileges they have. Hope and pray it always stays that way and that the Muslims themselves don't fall prey to misguided propaganda and ruin all their privileges themselves. After all everyone has their limits as far as tolerating goes!

Brit Media has a tendency and weird addiction sex things up, by producing such insane scare stories/articles. The MP's are putting the boot into the so called Islamification this time around.

Naturally, only racists, nutters, and anti-social lots admirers lap this stuff up.

These stories are produced for a single reason : P to prepare the public for a future attack on Iran.

I also wonder about Muslims (and other religions) who become British who at their swearing in ceremony have to pledge an allegiance to Her Majesty the Queen, who after all is Head of the Church of England and Defender of the Faith?

this is a flash in the pan, there are also a lot of british women marrying muslims and they have to convert to get married but I suspect no intention following the faith after that.

Nope I don’t think there is a real reason to worry, Islam will never take over Christianity as the UK national religion, if anything Atheism will: P

Muslims in Britain just like any other ethnic/religious community in the country have a right to maintain their religion and culture, and the rest of Britain should all respect that, and the British do, cause they are quite a tolerant nation, but what I don't agree with is that many don't even attempt to integrate into The culture, which to be fair is hard if you can't drink!. LOL

Not sure this is accurate. I think that alot of people have gone back to their roots and re-entered their faith. I know of no one who has converted. perhaps these are where the stats are coming from but as a politician once said 'there are lies, damned lies and statistics'

5,000 people a year? Big deal.

I wonder how many people abandon Islam every year in the UK? I bet there's no figures for that...
