So this goes out to all u Ipod users...

The disadvantage about ipods is that u can't transfer the music from an ipod to a computer. Is there any software that allows u to do that? I want to put some songs from my friend's ipod onto my computer, is there way ? Thanks!

Using XP go to folder settings turn on show hidden files then browse the ipod you want to take the tunes from and find the music folder. As mentioned the folders are a bit random but you can drag the tunes off.

I did this on holiday when my hotel gave me an ipod I nicked all their cool tunes ha ha.

The software mentioned above also works, google is your friend.

Cornellian. It's called Ephpod. Just google for it. Also, you might want to get GoPod which removes the volume limit on iPods.

try using third party softwares like copypod, anapod, lenogoipod2pc.exe

the most simple n easy to use is CopyPod_Suite_v1.24.exe

it works well too

Its easier if you just download itunes when your freind connects their ipod to your computer all his music will download instantly to you computer then you just delete the ones you dont want. you then can use it as a media player burn a copy to cd pretty much anything.

You could do that, if you want all the songs from the ipod.. Copy the folder and add the folder.. but the problem there is that you can't choose the tracks that you want to xfer.

Well, you can choose your songs, but it is a pain in the a*$ .. Esp coz the filenames are abbreviated characters or random ones .. not sure which one.

But if you search for the song, on the ipod folder, then you'll be able to find it as the id3 tags remain intact... (Well, for MP3s they have ID3 tags .. not sure what it is for ACC. But the tags remain intact)

I browsed it like a regular drive and copy it to my hard drive then add the folder to my media player.

I've done that to copy songs from my bf's ipod. I had itunes in my laptop though!

Hope it works for you too!

Cheers!
